J Susan Major, president of the Kaysville JCKs was named the Outstanding Chapter President for the months of May and June. Manly Koroulii external V.P. was presented with Outstanding Jaycee Woman of the Month award fof the month of July. She also received special recognition for signing up one new member, and was the recipient of this years Campout First Timers award. The JCKs were also recognized for their fourth place standing in the state and for showing positive growth. m nmi.iiuiiTi,wlg The decision was made by the council to form a special im-- 1 provement district. Surveys will be done to see if people want to participate in the project, with the city paying 30 percent of the cost and the residents in the area to pay the rest. The maximum amount to be paid by each resident was set at $200, with a refund if not all of the funds were sist on developers making sure the ground water was taken care of, said City Councilman Ross Phillips. I dont think the city should be a party to improve private property, but I do care about the roads. The streets are falling apart so the city should bear the expense, he continued. We dont have the funds, replied the Mayor Dean Brand. The city should accept the leadership and part of the' responsibility for the solution.
