MELISSA CLARK, , Homes Evacuated CENTERVILLE Residents of seven homes were evacuated Sunday night after firemen found a bazooka round in the attic of a home where they had been called to extinguish a fire. South Davis Fire Chief Brent Argyle said his department received a report of a home fire at 282 N. 400 E. at 6 p.m. The fire was started by an electrical short in a light fixture in the bathroom, but was confined to the attic after spreading up a wall, Argyle said. While extinguishing the blaze, firemen noticed the round and made sure the fire was out around the shell. Chief Argyle decided to evacuate the homes and wait for officials from Ft. Douglas in Salt Lake City to examine the shell. The shell explosive experts found to be a dummy round. The home is owned by Eva Windmill and is rented by Ron Clayton, the chief said, but neither Windmill or Clayton knew the shell was in the attic, Chief Argyle said. Approximately $2,000 in damage was done to the house, according to the chief.
