duboe a few appropriate remark and icv followed by edger collett camett who gay brief report of the stake which viFa sibe said in a more pros prosperous verous corAt tion than it had ever been elder own owen woodruff said he felt especially well this morning in listening to thare ports of the brethren he felt to p po chesy that if the brethren were untied and keep the commandments of side of ten years there would be tan times as many people in this stake as there are today referring to the building of the stake house he said build one four timea aa large as the breant one and as sure sum an aa god lives in ten years it will not ap com the people he wao waa grateful braot that the disputed water suit had ben successfully settled and felt it was waa through the spirit of god that this had been accomplished after singing benediction was waa pronounced by C E bartlett at the 2 p m session elder bennion was the first speaker and elder woj T oneil followed speaking on the be Q pel as looked upon anciently and in our day re he spoke at some length up on the first principles as taught toy by christ and his apostles elder 0 woodruff was the next speaker he read the eleven eleventh tb length on authority and other dot rines The Monday morning services commenced at 10 a m with elder bennion in charge he made a few opening remarks upon the necessity of looking ahead and preparing for the cropping season which is near at hand elder collett followed he spoke of the fact that there are no sects except the catholics and latter day saints but what have been changed ore or less during their existence since joseph smith revealed unto the world some principles they laughed us to scorn yet now many of them are copying kiter after the latter day saints in many essential particulars elder A B anderson was the next speaker he said the young are indebted to their parents for many of the comforts they now enjoy and the only way they can repay them is by following in their footsteps inasmuch as their lives have been worthy examples elder hocking said the sunday schools school of the stake are in excellent condition th young missionaries are doing a good work but have found some who entertain hard feelings of long standing he read a revelation contained in the doctrine and covenants enacts bearing on that particular subject elder woodruff called special attention to our appearance and said it matters not as to the kind of clothes worn as outward appearances cut little or no figure before god so long as neatness and cleanliness are kept in view called attention to the secret so cleties in our midst and said the young men are being led to join these associations which to is wrong because we have the brotherhood in the church tor for any and all singing let earth and heaven agree 11 benediction by elder D W bingham ping bangham ham A general arlest hoo d meeting was held immediately after the close of the regular meeting at which reports were bueard from the different quorums quo runis of priesthood in the stake the high priests teats lr quorum was reported as being about one third alive to their duties although of late more had been attending their meetings the seventies quorum was reported an aa being similar to the previous one there being about one fourth of the members in attendance at each meet tog the elders quorum had an en rosment roH ment of 96 members with an average attendance of 14 he looked forward to better results in the future the deacons quorums in the various wards were reported in general as being in fair working order with one or 01 two exceptions elder woodruff gave good food counsel and advised improvement in each quorum 2 p m ses session slon after the opening exercises the general and local authorities were that is being accomplished at the present time by the stake academy elder woodruff spoke upon the organization of the church anciently and showed how beautifully each part blended in the other and yet had its ita particular portion to accomplish it if we keep the spirit of god and cultivate the same we will never apostatize from this church he called attention to the reading matter used in our
