randah elders george skinner and david of the new york and canada district elder eleazer asay of the now new jersey field elders freeman waite hunter and thomas of the west virginia field ani an I 1 elders J H denio and ATC H C keeten lato late arrivals from zion meeting was opened at 10 a m with singing and prayer president george randall spoke of the temporal and spiritual blessings received by obedience to the gospel and read the articles of faith of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints as a text for the speakers during conference he read from st john band 8 and hebrews xi 6 refuted the general idea that the father and son are one and showed that they are am not only separate and distinct entities but tangible and and that the prevailing doctrines were a result of a departure from the gospel as taught by inspired apostles elder E asay quoted matthew vi 38 83 wherein great promises are made predicated on the fact that we obey bey the ba junction injunction of the savior to seek first the kingdom of god he briefly alluded to the principles of the kingdom and said that obedience to divine laws brought the promised blessings elder joseph waite said no man should stayner cayner Sf bore their testimony to the truth of the great latter day work A priesthood meeting convened at 9 a m on april the elders made verbal reports of their labors for the past six months showing the meetings n p held the number of baptisms and the general condition of their respective districts their testimony showed that there is a growing inclination for church literature that mray friends are being gained and that the people are inventing the gospel in many instances instructions on the ma manner n n e r of ordinations confirmations etaw etc were e m given by president stayner who announced the release of elders randall bandall and hunter and the following appointments were made elder W H freeman to preside over the conference and travel in this county and vicinity elder H P F thomas to act as clerk of the conference and travel in connection with elder J H denio in new jersey and new york districts elders george skinner and heber C keetch to travel in wetzel and tyler counties elders joseph walte waite and david budworth to travel in calhoun county and vicinity president randall bandall thanked the elders for their kindness toward himself and their willingness to
