More than two million native trout eggs have been taken from spawners now in the traps at Sheep Creek Lake, Department of Fish and Game officials said his week. The eggs, a real boon to the native trout in Utah waters, were the first to be taken at the lake since it was constructed, by the department several years ago for this purpose. To date some 1,600 mature spawners have entered the traps and the operations are expected to continue over the next several weeks. The eggs are now in the hatching trays at the Whiterocks, Kamas, and Springville hatcheries where they will be processed prior to stocking as small fingerling into selected Utah waters.
