Sunfest ended as students and faculty went to the Heritage Center Theater for the Thunderbird Awards. The Thunderbird Awards are given to students who a what being exemplify is all about. Some of the awards given out were were Male and Female Athlete of the Year, Professor of the year Organization of the year, and many more. Although the awards were the main highlight of the night, breaks in between showcased presentations different talents from campus. There were performances by the Ballroom Dance music and Company department students. The main talent of the night Preston was Pugmire, who was brought in by SUUSA specifically for the Thunderbird Awards. At the conclusion of the awards ceremony, students made their way downstairs for the masquerade ball. DJ Marcus Wing supplied music for the night. Students who didnt want to dance could go upstairs and take pictures in the photobooth with their friends, eat some food or sit and talk on the benches. a Candice Gibby, sophomore criminal justice major from Saratoga Springs, attended the ball and said she had a great time. I loved getting ready for the ball and making my mask, she said.
