Bingo Bango Palooza was on Wednesday in the Sharwan Smith Ballroom. dollars worth of prizes were given away including a GoPro Camera, Skullcandy headphones, a Nintendo Wii package, a 40 inch T.V. and a beach cruiser bicycle. Each student who participated was given an bingo ink stamper and bingo sheets as they walked in the door. Dallin Wright, SUUSA coordinator, explained the rules of the event. He said the winner must stand and shout bingo in order to qualify for a prize, and each participant was only allowed to win one prize. Wright called out the letter and number combinations. The first two rounds of bingo were played traditionally: the objective was to block out five spaces in a row. She said she was excited she won but also surprised, This is the first time have won a game of bingo since I was about eight, she said. Wall could not play the rest of the rounds Diamond, a freshman nursing major from West Jordan, said she had a little anger and disappointment because she did not win anything, but she was still glad she came. 1 FOR THE JOURNAL t I t vjorgensensuunews.com, y Page 3 I love bingo, she said. I am going to be that grandma who goes and plays bingo every Saturday. Over 60 students watched The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in the Ballroom Thursday evening. Ice cream sandwiches, orange creamsides and assorted fruity popsicles were served. Emma Lee, a freshman theatre arts major from Fairview, said she was so happy to be ab:e to attend this event because this movie is one of her favorites and the ice cream was yummy. She said she loved how the movie ties in ideas from the book and some new ideas. I adored this event beyond all adoringness, and it was just glorious in a really, really, really nerdy way, Lee said. Im sure this was a wonderful movie for people to see, even if they didnt enjoy it in as nerdy of a way as me. Sunfest continued with a carnival on Friday evening. At the carnival there were many different games students could participate in. The games ranged from throwing darts at balloons to knocking metal milk containers off a table with four softballs. but said she because she of the crowd origami rose had fun at the event anyway liked watching the 'suspense and she was able to make an with her bingo sheet. The pattern varied in subsequent rounds and required participants to block out different shapes on their cards such as an L, X, S, U and another U. Two people yelled bingo simultaneously during round nine. Wright proposed a dance off to settle the tie. An iPod touch was at stake. Each contender was given 20 seconds to dance on the stage. Wright had the crowd cheer for who they liked best. After the pelvic thrusting, shimmying and buttshaking ceased, Korie Harris, a freshman nursing major from South Jordan, was declared the winner. Harris said she was glad she won the dance off even though she was unsure what she was doing because her heart was pounding so hard she could not think straight. I was freaking out because actually just shattered my iPod the other day, Harris said. This was the prize that I wanted to win most. Bingo night ended after 12 rounds.
