Her bachelors degree is from the University of California Los Angeles and she earned her masters of business administration at Pepperdine University. Her extensive marketing experience includes vice president of sales and marketing for a southern California-base- d specialized line insurance carrier and she has conducted business seminars nationwide. Perry A. Stewart Acquisitions Librarian Matthew Nickerson, who will also teach library sciences, is originally from Baton Rouge, La. His diverse background includes work as a technician in cardio-vasculresearch and development with Cobe Laboratories, a bachelors degree in biochemestry form BYU and master of fine arts degree from the National Theatre Conservatory and master of library and information science degree from BYU. The art department is adding Perry A. Stewart to its faculty as an assistant professor. Stewart is from Carey, Idaho, and earned his bachelors and master of fine arts degrees from USU, where he He has worked as a taught in 1989-90- . freelance illustrator and won awards from the Los Angeles Society of Illustrators (1988) and the New York Society of Illustrators (1989). Stewart will be teaching graphic design and illustration. ar , f Craig Morrison " ' Bart Shanklin is a new assistant professor of music and director of choral activities. His bachelor's degree is from Union University, Jackson, Tenn. The Dresden, Tenn., native also has a masters from Florida State University and is working on his doctorate from the University of Illinois. He was choral director at Corinth High School, Corinth, Miss., and an assistant professor of music, director of choral activities at both Blue Mountain College and the University of Arkansas at Monticello. r K S j , Craig Morrison is an assistant professor of physical education with teaching experience from kindergarten through college in the United States, Canada and Australia. A native of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, he earned a bachelors degree from the University of New Brunswick, masters at Springfield College and doctorate from BYU. I r it it iii fai-- n r Judith Southworth Jory Ty Redd Assistant professor of chemistry, Jory Ty Redd, is a native of Blanding and a 1987 graduate of SUSC with a bachelor of science degree in chemestry. He also supervised the water lab while at SUSC. His graduate work is in synthetic and macrocyclic chemestry and he is currently working on his doctoral dissertation. fI A A Thomas Silhman, Jr. Wi'-sS- vs 'tin i&J Also joining the music department is Thomas Silhman, Jr., who is originally from Frederick, Md. The assistant professor of music earned a bachelors degree at James Madison University, a masters at Arizona State University and is working on his doctorate. He has taught at Glendale Community College and Grand Canyon Community College in Arizona and was a member of the Maryland Symphony 1982-8- Judith Southworth joins the School of Education faculty as an assistant professor. A native of Detroit, Mich., she earned her bachelors degree at Weber State College, masters at BYU and doctorate at the U of U. She has taught at WSC and USU and was director of Field Experiences and Student Teaching at USU. |
