He comes to SUSC from the University of New Mexico where he was the director of its audio visual center. Dillard earned his bachelors degree at Eastern New Mexico University, his masters from Syracuse University, doctoral degree at Indiana University, Bloomington and a librarymedia endorsement from UNM. Seventeen new faculty members will teach at SUSC during its transition from college to university. Seven of the faculty members will be in the School of Arts and Letters, five in the School of Education, three in the School of Science and two in the School of Business, Technology and Communication. Richard D. Bugg Richard D. Bugg replaced Douglas Baker as a theatre arts instructor. His hometown is Loveland, Colo. Bugg earned a bachelors degree from BYU and master of fine arts degree from the National Theatre Conservatory. He has been an assistant professor of theatre arts at BYU and a professional actor. "N Danielle Beazer Danielle Beazer has joined the faculty r after a appointment at Brigham Young University. A native of Charlottesville, Va., she earned her bachelors degree in English from BYU and her masters in English and creative writing from Stanford University, and will teach English. one-yea- - I 1 4 . i, Marva Esplin Marva Esplin has the advantage of n already being locally for her 23 years of service as USU Extension Home Economist for Iron County and was the recipient of the USU Home Economist of the Year Award. The 1964 graduate of SUSC (then College of Southern Utah) will be a home economics instructor for the college. well-know- SUSCs new band director and assistant professor of music education is Paul K. Garrison, whose hometown is Champaign, 111. Garrison earned his bachelors degree at Illinois State University, masters and advanced certificate from the University of Illinois and doctoral degree from Louisiana State University. His teaching experience includes public schools in Illinois and Louisiana, LSU Lab School and Keen State College, New Hampshire. Bruce Cottam Bruce Cottam has joined the business department faculty as an associate professor in business management and marketing. He holds a bachelor of science and a master of business administration degree from the University of Utah. A native of Salt Lake City, Cottam has extensive experience in the business world as an organizer and manager of several companies and as a national sales Marilynn T. Brown Nancy Glomb Another familiar face to southern Utahns is Nancy Glomb, whose 12 Judii'h Gamble Home economics education instructor Marilynn T. Brown taught home economics at Midvale Middle School and was a faculty member at BYU. She earned her bachelor of science degree in home economics education at Utah State University and a master of science degree in home economics education from BYU. Judith Gamble is visiting assistant professor in history, whose specialities are Spanish borderlands, Latin America and U.3. history. From Liberty, Mo., she earned her bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She has taught history at Columbia College, Aurora, Colo., Metropolitan State College, Denver, and University of Colorado at Denver, and has been an editor for the Colorado Historical Society. Philip H. Dillard Artesia, N.M., native Philip H. Dillard is part of the instructional media years of teaching special education includes five years in Cedar City and several years as special education consultant to teachers in southwestern Utah. A native of Cary, N.C., with a long-tim- e home in Parowan, she earned her bachelors degree from SUNY Binghampton and a masters in special education at USU, where she plans to obtain her doctoral degree in 1991. |
