Show jI la 1 I e !o'el A t ': ne ,,, Deseret News special Back home dter a big football OGDEN victory on the road, Weber State's happy Wildcats are getting ready this week for what they hope will be an even bigger one. In upsetting the Univers4y of Montana, last Saturday at Missoula, coach Pete Riehlman's young and depth poor Wildcats and rot their upped their season record to first win in Big Sky Conference play. NoNv they must face 1976 Division Two national champion Montana State, ranked No. I hi the country this year until caught off nard by Boise State, 26-- Saturday in Boise. Cheered by Boise's drubbing of MSU and their own ,letory over Montana, the Wildcats now think they can dethrone the defending conferene champion Bobcats this week in Bozeman. -Our guys are learning how to win," Weidman said Sunday. Winning is something you learn how to do, and beating Montana was wry important to us. The kids know they can 1 I points or well be in trouble. "MSU is the same type of team as Montana, only better. It's strictly a running team and they'll be running right at our the defensive line, We can't stop weakness MSU, so we'll have to outscore them. If we don't get 35 points we'll get beat. Our biggest problem will be to keep them from controlling the ball." There is no doubt Weber can move the ball and score points, especially after the surprise over Montana. The question is, can the Wildcats do it two weeks in a row? Weber's play against Montana was a complete reversal of form over its play the previous week against Northern Arizona. Can the Wildcats keep it up? We were up emotionally for Montana and played very well," said Rierman. "Our offensive line played very well, our pass offense was working and our pass defense was good. Also, we corrected a lot of mistakes we had been making. That was the difference in the game. "Another big difference in our game was Don Williams. After missing the NAU game he IA as back at center against Montana. He is a good blouker and gives a lot of stability to our 7, 1 I 0, I I do it now. -The team thinks it should have beaten Boise, and now that Boise has whipped 111SU our guys think they can do it too. I know we Can pass on MSU and our running game should keep improving.
