Utah coach Harry James was the District Seven representative. According to Miles, the committee met for over four hours before announcing their selections. In contrast to the conference finals, there is only one champion in singles and one in doubles. In conference play there are six singles champs and three doubles. Last year UCLA won the team title Bruin Billy Martin won the number one singles. Bruce Mansen and Butch Walts, USC, won the doubles title. Put a star on his forehead for that As for the Van Ness incident, whatever it is, the rest of the squad know little about it. That is important, too. At least, they know when Snyder sets standards for his Utah Aggie football team those standards w ill be met. Not many coaches would oust their No. quarterback, especially with Van Ness having ihe record he has and w ith the big year just ahead of him. Snyder, who coached at Utah State three years ago under Krueger, also knows if hes straight with his players they will be straight with him. And somehow that seems to win more games than it loses.
