Is it possible to use the pattern I already MARY T. have? DEAR MARY: Yes. in fact, you will be surprised how simple it is. pants end two to three inches below the waistline and are not finished with the conventional waist band. Measure your pattern carefully and mark it two or three inches below the top edge of your pattern, depending on how low you want the pants. It is always safe to try two inches. If you want them lower, you can always take off another inch. Cut this amount off the top of your pants. Usually, you will be cutting away the fitting darts, which you wont find necessary since the pants will not be coming up to the waistline. From the new cut edge, you will have to cut a facing for the top of the pants. This facing should follow the curve of the pants pattern and be cut about two inches wide. If the fabric isnt firm, you might also baste an interfacing on the wrong side of the pants before applying the facing. You will probably want a shorter zipper also. Apply your regular zipper. leaving the additional length at the lower edge, fasten securely across the zipper so it wont separate, and cut off the excess about one inch T-shi- - V FREE 18 Farmer limitations !J X. - nicely fitting By Eunice AND GET 'Si sew pants will newlyweds GRAMLITES you'vc made il The bride received her Her husband has Delta Sigma.
