Although it lasted only two days, it seemed like much more. The pri- m a r y reason for the governor cal- special session was to the shortfall of state revenue caused by the slowdown in the economy. The original budget was approved during the budget session of the Legislature in January of this year for the fiscal year from July 1, 1980 thru June 30, 1981. The governor and the Legislature use past year records in determining the anticipated income and expenses for the coming Dec. made by the governor, passed some resolutions and ironed out some technical complications that were created with the passage of the constitutional amendment in regards to the Lt. Governor and the Board of Examiners. We were also honored to have Mrs. Vivian Jensen, wife of the late Senator Moroni Jensen, sit in his stead, and be a senator during the session.
