Show r Bradshaw 60 years William Cooks Celebrate William Arthur and Florence Marie Corbett Cook celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at an open house at their home on 365 East miiii Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Helm v.' Temple. They were both born and raised in Salt Lake and have lived here all their lives William joined the army one week after World War I was declared and went immediately over seas. He stayed there during all the years of the war and was still overseas when the war ended Florence loves to cook and to collect and try out new recipes. The children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren love to visit and eat at gramas house. The Cooks have five children; Wi- James lliam Richard of Sandy, Otis of Granger, Florence Marie Burns of Salt Lake, Shirley Ruth Lanier of Las Vegas and Phyllis Coulston of Kearns. They also have and 42 in his World War uniform. I 27 grandchildren Very! Bangerfer Takes Bride Upon his return home he went to work at the Palace Laundry where he stayed for Exchanging nuptial vows Aug. 15 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple were Alice Janeen Pettersson and Vyrl Clinton 30 years and then retired. Florence worked at the Utah Bangerter. Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was held at the Lion House. That evening the couple greeted guests at a reception held at the Seville reception center. Maid of Honor was Jeri Jaye Pettersson and other attendants included Jodi Bangerter, Robyn Rydalch, Joanne Pettersson, Sandra Ahlquist, Pat Pettersson, Julie Pettersson, Kim Goates and Echo Thomsen. Shellise Ahlquist was junior bridesmaid and Hollie Pettersson, Joni Goates, Hillari and Aubrey Thomsen were flower girls. Tammy Thomsen was at the guest Candy Co. when she was 16 years old. She stayed there for 5 years and then her mother died and she had to give up her job to stay at home and, until she married, helped raise her five younger brothers and sisters. After Florence and William were married they moved into a house on 163 West 24th South. They had lived in that home for more than 40 years when they moved into their present home. Bill has always enjoyed raising chickens and pigeons. He also enjoys working in his garden and he is an avid fisherman. When the children were small they spent many hours with their father fishing. The groom graduated from Granger high and attended the University of Utah. He served two years in the Virginia Roanoke LDS mission. The bride is a graduate of Cyprus high where she was vice president of the Spinnaker Drill Team and honor student. She has attended BYU the last three years. Following a honeymoon to Sweetwater the couple will reside in Provo and attend Brigham Young University for their senior years. i i 7 BWiiwd visited with Joe and Helen DeNiro last Sunday, and as I left, pondered over how foolish sometimes am. Foolish to permit the pressures of daily life to encroach so far that the important things get left I I I and beautiful that I had a hard time remembering how sick she had been. ... we had what Anyway thought a good visit. Joe showed me a terrific 'new' view of one of our eastern mountains which shows a "sleeping woman" far better than Timpanogas . . . and I looked over the hill and recalled how this was had taken the pathway AW and long years ago when I first came to this spot where would make my home . . . and we had walked right through Joe and Helen's fields. realized it's been over a year . . . easily . . . since I last visited with those two; although we only live catti-cornacross the street from each other. I I I And as thought about that, recalled that it wasn't long ago that neighbors not only knew each other, but stopped for a few moments in their daily lives to talk and find out what was going on. Not to be nosey or butt in, but just an easy give and take of caring about others. I Anniversary Florence as a young girl. f , j EM Reception Honors Helm's The children and grandchildren of Ralph Emmett and Eula Dee Helm held a reception honoring them at the Balsam Gardens Reception Center on September 6 Friends and relatives were invited to share in the celebration of the couples golden anniversary. Ralph, a native of Coltman, Idaho, and Eula Dee, from Hamer, Idaho were married in Idaho Falls on September 6, 1930. The have lived in Grant, Hamer, Idaho Falls and are now residing on Smiley Drive. The Helms have six children. They are Mary Elizabeth, David Chester, Manfred Frank, Lucille (Mrs. Hollister) Strecker, Judy (Mrs. Duaine) Wright and Joy Helm. They also have fifteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. t Window . The marriage of Rebecca Sue Neilsen of Pocatello, Idaho and John Dell Bradshaw of Murray took place in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 13. A wedding breakfast, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Elton B. Oddly enough, when FC died alone up in Gram's home, it was another neighbor, Joe Mash, who helped my son Bill as the same morticians came to do their necessary tasks. I It's one of those mean things we allow to happen in our hurry of living. So busy doing the things that we forget the underneath currents. Neilsen, honored the couple at the Stake House in Pocatello. Rebecca is a graduate of Pocatello high and is attending BYU. John is a graduate of Murray high and is now a student at BYU. He has filled an LDS mission to Greensboro, North Carolina. Lenette Neilsen, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and bridesmaids Helen DeNiro, in case you didn't know, became quite ill a year or so ago and knew it.
