Brown, West Jor--v dan, president of the Intermountain Quarter Horse Assn. , IQHA, with an active of 600 breeders, will sponsor five Quarter HorS, clinics in Utah, Idaho and Nevada this spring, with a show schedule of American Quarter Horse shows hitting the peak of 30 shows. The association spring show will be held in Filer, Idaho on J. Ralph Bell Sales May 26-2Co. of Visalia, Calif., will hold a sale of Quarter Horses in conjunction with the show May 26. Merkley of Pocatello, Idaho. Get One of the largest Quarter Horse shows in the nation is held in Ogden late each fall by IQHA. In 1961 over 500 entries were recorded repi esenting the finest Quarter Horse breeding ranches in the West. A performance horse program will be stressed during 1962 shows, with IQHA presenting grand and reserve champion p performance horse awards in addition to reserve champion trophies in the halter division. Using the IQHA point system, the various show s participating will keep an accurate record of top performance horses and the owners of these horses will compete for a trophy saddle for the areas top performance horse of the year at Ogden.
