Show Thursday, March 10, THE 1966 From the ABOUT HORSEMEN A defensive driving course, sponsored by the Utah State Department of Highways in cooperation with Utah State Safety was held council Thursday, Friday and Monday at the highway department district No, 4 offices in Price. Reid Wilson, district safety engineer, was in charge of the course and is being assisted by Lyle Mow er. assistant safety engineer. Mr. Wilson said the course is part of the National Safety council's driver impiwement program and has the approval of the president of the United States and the governor of Utah. It is pointed out there was no driving or examinations during the course which will consist of lectures demonstrations, and 'MimHiiautuumiiiiiminimmmiiituimiiiuiiimuitiimiiiiimimimiiuiiiiiiiiimiiiiiiiiiiimmiiiiimiimiuiiiiimiiniiiiuiiiiHiiiittminiimiiniiiiiiJiHii District No. 6 of the Utah State Western Riding Clubs Association held its monthly meeting Friday, February 18th, at the Elmo School House. The Blue Ridge Riders of Cleveland were hosts for the evening. Clubs present were Posse, Star Riders and the Chuck Wagon Riders of Price, Wellington Mountaineers, Huntington Saddle Club, Riders of the Spanish Trail, Ferron, and Grassy Trail of Sunnyside. State minutes were read and some changes in the rule book discussed. The dates for the South Region Show are August 26th and 27th. The District No. 6 meet will be held August 13th in Emery County. The District No. 6 Jamboree for members and their guests was held Saturday evening, March 12th, at the Price Armory. The Kenilworth News Briefs Reported Mr. and Mrs. Ross Christensen and girls of Kaysville were week end visitors here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Viv Christensen and Mr. and Mrs. George Richards. Mr. and Mrs. Chris Kulow drove to Salt Lake City Saturday where they joined her mother Mrs. Hazel Wayman. They were called because of the death of her father who had undergone surgery at a Salt Lake City hospital. The Waymans are residents of Castle Dale. Don SKvenson and girls Vicky and Dixie motored to Spanish Fork Saturday where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Marx. They were accompanied by Valene Olsen of Spring Glen. Mr. and Mrs. Ferral Johnson and children of Ogden were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Christensen. They stayed Saturday night in Castle Gate with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Swenson and daughter Faye spent the weekend in Salt Lake City visiting Mr. and Mrs. George Richards, Jr. Dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Vic Christensen Friday were Mr. and Mrs. Bert Wilde of Hiawatha, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Christensen of Pleasant Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Virg Olsen of Price, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Christensen of Sunnyside, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Christensen of Kaysville, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Grange of Pocatello, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Chandler and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilde, all of Provo, and Mrs. Agnes Scow of Dragerton who stayed a few days. They had all attended the funeral for Earl Wilde at Cleveland. Precipitation During February Sub Normal, Weather Bureau Says Below normal precipitation was the general rule during February over the watersheds of eastern Utah, according to the water supply outlook for eastern Utah (Green River Drainage) as provided by the U.S. Weather Bureau, Salt Lake City. to Amounts were in the 65 90 bracket with a small area below 65 of normal. This is the second consecutive month of below normal precipitation. Temperatures during February also averaged below normal. The outlook for March is above-norm- al precipitation with below-norm- al temperatures expected. Inflow to Scofield Reservoir is expected to be 35,000 acre-fee- t. Under average reservoir operations, it is doubtful that Scofield will reach capacity this season. Disease Case Report Two disease cases were reported to the Utah State Department of Health from Carbon County during the week ended February 18. These included one of mumps and one of tuberculosis. The next district meeting will be held at Ferron on March 18th with the Riders of the Spanish Trail as hosts.
