I challenge our local government agencies and bodies to cooperate with each other and establish a Carbon County Flood Control Committee to make a thorough study of the potential flash flooding areas know to exist, and promulgate their findings along with recommended preventive measures. We are fortunate to have several Federal agencies in such fields located in the Price area and they should be considered in this selection of the committee. A series of diversion dikes and lead-a-wditches located in key areas could very well prevent costly damage to homes, property and lives; water from such flash in the floods have been knee-hig- h area now occupied by the Ford garage and other places in Price. Similiar floods have occurred in other areas which need protection. A serious study needs to be made concerning the placing of a concrete liner and wire mesh top in and over the irrigation canal that runs through the north side of FTice. Two deaths have occurred by small children drowning in this canal and a wire mesh top might have prevented these tragedies; the concrete lining will prevent loss of water and elima considered inate potential source of seepage that occurs in a number of basements on the south side of the canal, which is detrimental to existing property. These two proposals are not as entertaining or as sophisticated as some on the drawing boards and underway at present but should be considered, if deemed necessary and within the scope 637-266- 637-118- 637-341- Price Theatre iiimmmiMiiMmiiimmmiimmimmimmimiHHimmiiuiin imiiumiimiuimuiHimmmitiitiiHumu NOW SHOWING ay That Funny Feeling Sandra Dee also Bobby Darin Town Tamer with Dana Andrews SATURDAY KIDS MATINEE Kid From Left Reid Sun., Mon., Tues., March 13, 14, 15 Strange Bed Fellows Rock Hudson Gina Lollobrigida Walt Disneys NEXT WEEK That Darn Cat (- DINOSAUR TIRE SERVICE TWO LOCATIONS: 91 I Phone E.
