Show THE First Section Insert SUN-ADVOCAT- Thursday, March 16, PRICE, UTAH E, Disbanded Club Wills Funds to Price Opportunity Center Hiawatha News Several years ago the South Price Home Demonstration Club was discontinued after a successful tenure as an educational unit which sponsored speakers to give instruction and ideas. Homemakers affiliated with the club benefited from the courses, and When disbanded, they had a small treasury. This money has been donated to Opportunity Center, with the good will of former officers, Alice Larsen, president; Julia Wilson, vice president; and LaRue Petitti, secretary. The donation has been tagged to provide tuition for instructors at the Center in a class called of and Treatment "Diagnosis Special Learning Difficulties Education Number 186, which will be brought into the area by Utah State Extension Services if 15 individuals will enroll. Dr. Kaye Owen will be instructor for the class, which will be held at College of Eastern Utah. It is imperative that at least 15 persons take the course. Those desiring to enroll are asked to contact the Extension Office at the Court House, or to 8. telephone Briefs Reported A bridal shower was given in the Banquet Rooms Friday eve- ning by Ona Barnett and Bernice Armstrong for Joy (Barnett) Carter. Raymond Madrid and John Prettyman played their guitars, Stella Prettyman sang, Debbie Garr played a piano solo, Kaye Colosimo and Cloy Merrill tap danced, and Barbara and LeAnna Bishop sang, accompanied by Kayla Merrill at the piano. Private John Smith III left for Fort Old, California, Friday after spending two weeks visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Smith. Pearl Babcock underwent surgery Wednesday at the University Hospital in Salt Lake City. Carbon King Coal Company donated to the drive through owner James Diamanti, to A1 Breznick, Helper chairman for the ARC. In Price, Kaiser Steel made a welcome contribution, according to this years fund chairman, Mike Dmitrich. The two men, with George E. Bauer, chairman for the East Car Wellington News Highlights Reported The First and Second Wards of LDS Relief Society will hold their annual birthday party in the Cultural Hall Saturday evening. Members of the organization and their partners are invited. Blake and Robin Draper had their tonsils removed at the Carbon Hospital on Friday. They were released the same afternoon and are recuperating at home. They are the son and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Draper. Representatives of the American Red Cross have been called into action in providing homes, clothing, medical aid, to victims of floods, hurricanes, earthquakes throughout our land. Volunteers in this great program have located missing persons, united sons and daughters with their parents, brought anxiously-awaited word into homes which have lost contact with loved ones.
