Show J - THE Thursday, December 4, 1958 Page Six SUN-ADVOCA- B I i t ii a r i c s JOHN (.Phil) GORISHEK Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Scofield ward chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints, for John (Phil) Gorishek, 20, Scofield, who died Friday at 10:10 p.m. in the hospital of carcinoma. He was born March 17, 1938, at Scofield a son of Louis and Sant? Elardo Gorishek, Sr. He attended elementary school at Scofield and the ninth grade at Wasatch Aca lemy at Mt. Pleasant where he started his football career which eventually led to his selection on the Class A high school football He played football in the tenth grade at the Price junior high school and then went on to Carbon high. In his eleventh grade year at Carbon high he underwent an op eration to stop a cancer then was sent to Colorado Springs, Colorado, for three months of treatments. He returned to Carbon high in the twelfth grade and was selected on team and represented the Carbon high on the state wrestling team. Following his graduation he returned to Colorado Springs for further treatments. On December 31, 1957, he married Patsy Hayes of Price. Survivors include his widow, parents, and a brother, Louis Gorishek, Jr., Scofield, and a sister, Mrs. William (Louette) Page, Salt Lake City. Burial was in the Price city cemetery under the direction of the Mitchell funeral home. MAC MILES Mac Miles, 46, died Sunday, November 30, at Oakland, California, following a short illness. He was the son of Samuel and Edith Miles and the grandson of Erastus W. Mclntire, pioneer settler of Price. He was born in February of 1912 in Price and served overseas during World War II. He held various positions on San Francisco newsMc-Inti- re City-Coun- papers. He is survived by his mother, Oakland; three brothers, Samuel, Thomas and Robert Miles, seven nephews and nieces. Graveside services were conducted today at 3 p.m. at the Price city cemetery with military rites under the direction of the American Legion honor guard and the Utah National Guard. Burial was under the direction of the Mitchell funeral home. She was born July 31, 1878, in Figlini Vegulturo, Italy, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Christiana. She married Joseph DeAngeles October 19, 1899. He died September 26, 1943.
