Show Page Six THE Thursday, May SUN-ADVOCA- 22, 1958 Marines Announce Continuance of 120-Da- y Delay Enlistment Program for Students Major William S, Rump, officer In charge of the Marine Corps recruiting station in Salt Lake City, has announced that due to y the tremendous success of the delay enlistment program during the past year, that the program is being continued. Young men and women who are considering enlisting in the Marine Corps but are still in high school may enlist in this program and continue their education. This type of enlistment insures the applicant that she or he will be able to go on active duty at the date of his choice anytime during the y period. While in this program, the young men are draft exempt. Time for pay purposes and for military obligation commence the day the enlistees are sworn in at Salt Lake City. Due to the recent reduction in forces for all the armed services, the recruit enlistment quota has been set at a low number. This sometimes results in an applicant 120-da- 120-da- ) duty.
