President of Utah Catholic Group Mrs. Lee Diamanti of Helper was elected president of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women when the seventh annual convention of the council convened in Ogden last Friday and Saturday, In addition to Mrs. Diamanti the delegates seated Mrs. Robert Williams of Bountiful as first Mrs. Kenneth Downs of Ogden second vice president, Mrs. James Olsen of Cedar City, third Mrs. H. W. Christensen of Provo, secretary, and Mrs. Clyde A. Scott f Salt Lake City, treasurer. Mrs. John Paloni of Price will assist Mrs. Diamanti as corresponding secretary of the council. Most Reverend Duane G. Hunt, bishop of Salt Lake, presented the Catholic Mother of the Year award to Mrs. J. P. Brennan of Kearns. ' Reports of distirct officers and committees were given. The three hundred ladies attending the convention heard Bishop Joseph L. Federal, the coadjutor to Bishop Hunt, speak on "Mary, Help of Christians, Our Guide." Ladies attending from the Notre Dame de Lourdes and the St. Josephs Altar Societies of Price and Wellington were Mrs. John Paloni, the immediate past secretary of the southeastern district; Mrs. William Welsh, the newly-electe- d district secretary; Mrs. Paul Holdaway, the of the disfirst trict; Mrs. Frank Segura, treasurer of .the Wellington society, and Mrs. Manuel Escandon, the Wellington society president.
