GROUPS NEWS THE OF CLUBS Page Sever TE Thursday, May 22, 1958 Alpha HAVE HAY RIDE Bee Hive Girls and Boy Scouts of Price Second Ward MIA were treated to a hay ride party Saturday night. Instructors Pete Frandsen, George Wallace, Mrs. Odell Lindsey, LaRue Spigarelli and LaVell Shiner made arrangements for the fun time, and were assisted in chaperone duties by Mrs. Frandsen, Mrs. Wallace and Mr. Lindsey. After meeting at the tabernacle, the group journeyed to Mr. Frandsens farm south of Price where they boarded the hay rides to Pinnacle Peak and back. Then by the light of a huge bonfire the Bee Hive girls shared box lunches with the scouts and all toasted marshmallows. BUILDING Year with Dinner Xi Climaxes Alpha XI Chapter of Beta Sig-- I ma Phi in Dragerton climaxed its busy year with a delicious spaghetti dinner Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Hazel Morgan. The lovely dinner was prepared by Mary Paloni, assisted by Docia Tallerico, Emily Morrison and lone Makl. A short business meeting was held following the dinner hour with lone Maki presiding. New committee chairman were named for the coming year and Lola Alger was elected to the office of corresponding secretary. Mrs. Ruth Maulsby was install ed as director and was presented with a lovely silver salad server as a token of appreciation for her splendid assistance during the past year. The cultural program on Architecture was presented by Betty members Poglajen. . Twenty-fiv- e and one guest, Mrs. Merlene Alger of Price, enioved this festive event that will conclude the chapters activities for this year. At the latest meeting held in NEW GOVERNING GROUP the club room of the Price municipal building the Xi Kappa Exemplar chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held the installation ritual for new officers for the 1958-5- 9 club year. New officers shown include, left to right, Lucille Jensen, president; Beverly Giacoletto, vice president; Helen Nelson, treasurer, and Cecelia Bryner, corresponding secretary. Other officers are Annabelle Holdaway, recording secretary; Donna Shimmins, historian, and Marjorie Curtis, city council member. Plans were discussed for the family picnic to be held during the summer months for members and their families. This picnic is one of the highlights of the year for members of Xi Kappa Exemplar chapter. It was decided the chapter would sponsor a scholarship for a student at Carbon College again this year. In charge of the evenings program was Mrs. Anette Cross, immediate past president, and Mrs. Marjorie Curtis.
