Show and Club Events Society Notes State Conventions SUN-ADVOCA- TE Belle S. Spafford and Edith Bachman, members of the LDS Relief Society general board of Salt Lake Gty, were in Price Monday and Tuesday holding conventions with Carbon, Emery and Nqrth Carbon stake Relief Society workers. Dean Wengreen, historian; Mrs. David Galbraith, Mrs. Neeley, music directors, Mrs. Fred Oak-de- n, special project chairman. the tabernacle. They prepared and served luncheon at noon to their special guests. Mrs. Cecil Broad-ben- t, stake president, presided. The Singing Mothers provided music, under direction of Mrs. Harvey Thomas. After a morning of instruction, the afternoon was devoted to a similar meeting for ward officers and teachers. Cecil Broadbent, stake president, gave a short talk. Carbon and Emery stakes met together at Fourth ward chapel Tuesday morning for their convention, with Mrs. Maud Warren of the Carbon group presiding. Their Singing Mothers were directed by Mrs. Dean Brown. A noon luncheon was prepared by the Fourth ward Relief Society. Only at Sonoma's 17 East Main Price I"' WHEN I FOB A MEW CAR Death of a Colorado motorist recently near Castle Gate when a dynamite blast ripped the pickup truck he was driving will not be included in the states highway fatality count, Utah Highway Patrol Superintendent Lyle Hyatt has reported. Mr. Hyatt said the accident could not be attributed directly to fault of the road, vehicle or driver. He said the truck was not involved in a collision before the explosion. Alf.Karo, 48, Nucla, Colorado, was killed and a passenger injured when dynamite being carried in the back of the moving truck exploded about 19 miles northeast of Price. J .. MR. AND MRS. CLYD E MONTE BURNSIDE Connie Warren, Clyde Monte Burnside Wed in Manti LDS Temple Ceremony parties honoring the bride were given by Shirley and Ida Downard, Kathryn Burnett, Ina Golding and Florence Post-nupti- al Christensen. The couple are former students of Carbon College and Brigham the late Gifford Warren. The Young University. groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gyde Burnside of Kenilworth. A reception honored the couple the following evening in the LDS Institute of Religion. The lylde wore a floor-lengt- h gown of white silk organza, featuring a scooped neckline, dainty appliqued with lace, and a slight veil chapel train. Her finger-ti- p of silk illusion was caught to a tiara of sequins and pearls. She carried a white orchid surrounded by stephanotis. Attendants to the bride were her sister, Maudeen Warren, as maid of honor, Mrs. Sherrill sister of the groom, matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Judy and Adams, Kathryn Burnett Florence Christensen, Elaine Warren and Cathy Cook were junior bridesmaids. They were dressed in varying shades of pink with contrasting cummerbunds and large bustle bows. Each carried a nosegay of pink and white carnations. Sharon Kantor stood as best man. Reed Warren ushered. Mothers of the bride and groom wore dresses of blue with gardenia corsages. An aunt of the bride Mrs. Pete Cook, attended the guest book. Parley Johnson, grandfather of the bride, greeted the guests, Myrna Longhurst, Kenna Mutz, Verda Marz and Shirley Downard presided at the gift table. Assisting with the serving were Kay and Jean. Hartley, Lynnette Marianne Patterick, Holdaway, Ann Gibson, Laurel Frandsen, Patsy Perette, Ida Downard, Jennie Stevens, Florence Pitts, Stella Hastings, Bonnie, Verna and Jane Elizabeth Johnson, Williams, Eloise World, and Ruth Golding. The wedding cake was strikingly decorated with pink and white wedding bells. The cake was made and decorated by the brides aunt, Mrs. Pete Cook. A continuous program was presented by Joel Johnson, master of ceremonies, announcing the following participants: Dick Lund-ber- g and company, Kyle Jones, Elaine Warren, Gara Thompson, Natalie Bean, Joan Pitts, Bill Calvin Jewkes, Arlene Craig, Brown, Florence Saastamoinen, Velda Behunin, Murray Shorts, Gyde Marx, Stephen Petty, Frankie Coomer, Bill, Eddie and Jimmie Johnson, Gay Allred, Deane Brown, David Brown and Cathy Mar-chell- Lacing and Olsen, thanked her officers and club members for their wonderful support and was honored for her excellent leadership and was presented with a lovely silver covered dish by the past vice president, Mrs. Angie Farlaino. The new president was awarded the presidents pin by Mrs. Diamanti, and presidents gavel by Mrs. Olsen. Mrs. Virginia Cochrane, chairman of the evening, Mrs. Diamanti, and past officers were also given lovely corsages. Sweet peas, candles and colored streamers blended to make the Betty Elkin.
