Show Thursday, September 18, 1952 THE Carbon junior college and high school ended the Initial week of school with the annual Hello Day celebration last Friday and with the election of the various official student class officers. Hello Day is set aside each year to enable the students at a box of goodies with prize a hilarious three - minute play centered around the evolution of Carbon. At 1:30 p.m, a pep rally for the Carbon-Gran-d Junction game was held during which time cheer leaders and song leaders were elected. Cheerleaders who were elected were Doris Rae Zorn, Rita Allis, Pat Shiner,, Connie Platis, Ned McArthur, and Prank Redd. The song leaders gaining student approval were Kay Binks, Bonnie Rae Lewis, Helen Liddell, Colleen Funcannon and Shirley Carbon, especially those attending for the first time, to become This year, better acquainted. Hello zones were set aside on the campus and anyone not geet-in- g every one in the zones was fined a penny for each failure. Associated Women Students were in charge of the days activities but they did not profit too greatly from the penny fines, according to Geri Cima, AWS president Short acts and competitive skits were presented in the gymnasium beginning at 10:13 a.m. The Block C club copped first i er.
