Truly, some folks come to the Care Center and stay for several months, or even years, because they need the persona! professional care provided and have no one to care for them at home and cant take proper care of themselves living alone. Thus RCC has become their home away from home, where loving caregivers become close friends and family, along with family members and other friends visiting. The primary goal and purpose of the skilled care center is to provide rehabilitation for recovery and restoration to normal function or the maximum level of normal functionintering as possible. You may be ested to know that over 65 of the folks admitted to RCC rehabilitate and go back to their homes or with And, we other family members. continue to put emphasis on rehabilitation and discharge planing as one of our primary objectives in our services. Let me emphasize again, the benefits that those over 65 are en titled to under the Medicare laws. RCC is a Medicare skilled (SNF) certified facility that is given the charge to assist our seniors in receiving what they should from Medicare. Under the law, after you have been in a hospital for three days, you are entitled to receive professional skilled care so you can reach your full potential of rehabilitation from illness or surgery. Professional skilled care includes speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, and a multitude of services requiring a licensed nurse. Medicare allows limited days in the hospital, so recovery and rehabilitation cannot be complete. Thus the necessity for continuing skilled care at Richfield Care Center before going home. If you are hospitalized at Sevier Valley Hospital, or any other hospi Leeon Christensen celebrate We want everyone to know that we now have a van available Tuesday through Friday each week to use to pick up senior citizens in Aurora, Redmond and Salina who would like to come to the Center for lunch. We know there are those who would like to come but dont have transportation. Please call the Cen1 ter by 9:30 a.m. each morning you would like us to come and pick you up. This gives us time to plan our schedule, and also lets the lunch workers know how many lunches to prepare. On Saturday, July 3, the annual celebration will be held at Aurora West Park, with games, rides, races and fireworks. 529-333- 529-390- Monday, July 5th activities will see an Early Morning Breakfast at the city park. Other activities including games, races and lunches will follow. It promises to be a weekend full of fun and excitement for all. $4 for the play. We stop and eat before the play. The girls competed with entrants from around the state in several areas, including horsemanship and personality. The Rodeos will be held Saturday, July 3rd, beginning at 8 p.m. (followed by a Street dance); and Monday, July 5th, beginning at 8 p.m. (followed by the annual fireworks display). - n, and Bake Sale set by Girls Athletics North Sevier High School Girls Athletics will be having a Yard Sale and Bake Sale, July 3, from 8 a.m. to 1 1:30 a.m. at the high school front lawn. Money earned will go toward Volleyball Camp and uniforms. Ashman Elementary is looking for volunteers to help with their school lunch program for the 1993-9- 4 school year. The time help is needed would be from 1 1 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The volunteers would help by serving lunch to students and scraping some trays. Lunch would be provided as the volunteers finish their duties. We will be preparing larger amounts of the items for sale so that there should be enough for all interested (and hungry)- The Cotton Candy and popcorn prepared the day of the rodeo to insure a higher quality of goods. FTiccs will remain the same as last year even though the cost of materials is higher each year. Items that will be for sale include: chili burgers, hot dogs and wil be nacho chips for $1.00; snow cones, cotton candy, popcorn and coke products for 50 cents each.
