Continued from Page cost of the Commissioner Jessica Barney Ashman cau- tioned that staying with the CUP would mean "...another tax increase for the citizens. The project has been dragging slowly along, and commissioners are worried about how much longer will be necessary to determine just how much water this area will actually receive. Commissioner Nice notes that even in drought years Sevier River Basin farmers do well with Conservation crop production. methods and sprinkling system irrigation have greatly enhanced the efficiency and amount of water available to be used on the farms. Lions will pick up papers Members of the Salina Lions Club will be picking up bundled newspaper at 9 a.m. this Saturday, June 3. The members of the club appreciate the cooperation of everyone in the Aurora, Redmond and Salina areas in this money making project. The revenue has been a big help in raising money to build the new 40 x 48 foot Salina Lions Club building on the east side of town just west of the city maintenance sheds. The concrete flooring is now being laid, and the new building will be erected within the next few weeks. Commissioner Ashman noted that one of the planned goals of the project had been to construct power plants along the route of water diversion from the east into the central and southern Utah areas. This all seems to have been forgotten, Ashman said. The commission will announce the dates of the public hearings and the election that will help make the final decision whether Sevier County stays with - or dumps the Central Utah Project.
