Focus on Faculty Our Focus on Faculty this month is Retta J. Gale, of North Sevier High School. She teaches Business Education as well as being a core teacher. She is the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Advisor and Supervisor for the student government She is also the PTSA Faculty Representative. Mrs. Gale received her teachcertificate and Business Educaing tion Degree from Southern Utah State University, Cedar City. While there she was the Academic Vice President, Associated Student of SUSC. It was her responsibility to attend Dean's Council meetings as a student representative. She also represented the ASSUSC in convocation meetings, academic computer steerring meetings, financial aid, academic probation and library meetof Thun-derbiings. She was awards for SUSC. Utah Career Teacher Scholarship. Business Education Scholarship as well as an Academic Scholarship. She was nominated for Female Contributor of the Year for the in 1990. She as also outstanding Business Education student during her last year at SUSC. During her first year teaching in Sevier School District Retta was voted Outstanding Educator. Retta and her husband, Todd, make their home in Salina. Her interests include spending time with her family, cooking, reading, playing piano, singing, attending theatrical productions, hiking and being around people. As the North Sevier High School PTSA Focus on Faculty this month, Retta will receive a balloon bouquet and certificate towards dinner for two at Cedar Creek Restaurant, in Salina. While in high school at Cedar City High she served as president of the A'capella Choir and her duties included arranging different functions at the concerts, fundraisers, competitions and social events. While she was president the group performed at Assembly Hall on Temple Square in Salt Lake City. She was a Senior Class Senator at Cedar High and one of two speakers chosen by the students to speak at her high school graduation. She also attended Brigham Young University of Hawaii for one semester. as Retta has been active in both a leader and member. She has also served as a Summer Games volunteer, as well as volunteering to help with the Utah Shakespearean Festival and member of the comu-nit- y Thun-derbir- 4-- H choir. Hospital offers scholarship to student The Gunnison Valley Hospital is offering a $500 cash scholarship to a student from either Manti High School or North Sevier High School who has expressed an interest in pursuing a career in the Medical field.
