Show Former NSHS star keeps Mae Campbell will be honored on her birthday wwawwgfrjOTr' making headlines A former student of North Sevier High School recently received an award for outstanding athletic achievements during the College of Eastern Utahs annual athletic awards banquet Angela Mason, NSHS graduate, was honored as Best Defensive Player on the CEU Lady Eagles softball team. From her position on first base, she leads the team in fielding percentage, despite a knee injury that has prevented more strenuous play. The CEU sophomore student is a consistent honor student and is also a candidate for the Scenic West Athletic Conferences Academic recognition. Addressing the banquet was Rick Majerus, the colorful coach of the University of Utahs basketball team. He told the students to not be afraid of failure. It will be held at her home, 59 West main on Saturday, May 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mae was bom on May 13, 1910 in Salina. She married Vern Ivie on October 15, 1929. They were parents of two children, Wayne Ivie and Lynda Whitlock. She has 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She married Ray Campbell on July 1, 1970. They served an LDS mission in 1979 in Kentucky. She is an active member of the LDS Church and has served in Primary, S unday School and Relief Society.
