Show I Honeyville-Harpe- r Hotline Special Interest persons invited to Logan dance Honeyville increases '77 fire budget by $800 by Ellen Cook Call The town board of Honeyville met on Monday, Aug. 1. The fire department budget which was proposed by Fire Chief Dennis Harper at the last board meeting was again discussed. An increase of $800 over last years budget was sought by the department for the purchase of needed equipment. After much discussion about the necessity of the increase, the budget passed the council with a vote of 279-83- Voting against the proposition were councilmen Robert Orme and Oral J. Hunsaker with members Jack Harper and Rodney Nelson voting for the budget. The tie was broken by Mayor Boyd Gardner in favor of the increased budget. The town budget was also discussed and passed a levy of eight mills, which shows no increase over last years budget. It received unanimous approval by board members. Need Tag If your dog is not wearing a dog license and rabies tag by now, you need to purchase them immediately. Aug. 1 was the deadline concerning licensing town dogs. All dogs four months or older are required to be licensed. The tags are available from Bryan Sparks and Oral J. Hunsaker at a cost of $3 for each male or spayed female and $5 for each unneutered female. Honeyvilles ball teams are putting on quite a show with the two mens teams and the girls team all going into region play. In stake competition the senior mens team took second place behind Bear River. Hon- eyvilles junior team came through in the first place position. The girls team also cap Special Interests from the tured the number two slot on the stake level. Congratulations to all these fine ball players and their coaches. New arrivals are in the news. Increasing the male population in the Lewis Anderson home is a baby boy. The new family member will be named Jacob. Brigham City area are invited to a dance Friday at 9 p.m. at North Logan. The event will take place at 1105 Eas 2100 North. The Gene Clayton Trio will provide music. There will be refreshments. All single persons are invited to attend. Another Boy Another boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Kent Norman. The little fellow weighed in at seven pounds two ounces and has a brother and sister at home. Traveling to Salt Lake last Monday were the William Astle family and Miss Bambi Walker. The group spent the day attending the Days of 47 Rodeo in the Salt Palace, Mrs. Astle who is advisor for the high school rodeo club, said the rodeo was good but my kids are just as good and more exciting to watch. Honeyville is saddened at the Town plans to purchase Mayor Johnsen told the group that $200 would be needed to fix up their Econoline truck transmission and the board decided that it would be advisable to just get a new truck. Building Permits The town board also advised that anyone who needs a building permit should get these from Bette Dallin and they can be obtained for the fee of $25. You are asked to keep your dogs tied during the night, if anything happens the dogs will be picked up and taken to the veternarian in Brigham City. The board would also like to thank everyone who helped in any way with the celebrations on July 23. They felt like they were a success and they appreciated all the help that they were given. The Elders quorum presidency was recently changed in the Bear River ward. Those released were Ray Frost, Blaine Anderson, Harold Ward and John Udy. Those sustained were Richard Nelson, president; Jerry Starsiak and Ray Frost, counselors; and John Short Vacation Mr. and Mrs. Roger Dallin and sons Jeff and Chris just returned from a short vacaton. They traveled to Bear lake and visited at Sun Rise and Mini tonka caves. They found these very interesting. They then returned to Tonys Grove and stayed there for awhile. They enjoyed their vacation very much. Ten members of the senior special interests group of town traveled to Ogden last Friday and attended two sessions in the LDS temple. Andrea Huggins, Myrtle Anderson, Vita Burt, Phyllis A. Holmgren, Mary S. Anderson, Carrie J. Christensen and Dollie Iverson sang with other members of the DUP chorus in the Tremonton Second ward on July 24, and then in the Garland East ward and the Fielding ward on July 31. The Bear River camp of DUP also conducted the July 24 meeting in our ward. Dollie the Tremonton ward and spoke in the other wards. Lela Anderson gave a conducted in short history on Bear River in the Bear River ward. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Anderson have had their daughter Christine Julander and her children staying with them for awhile. River Runners Return The young men that went on the river run have returned. A total of 19 men and boys took a ride down the River of No Return on the Upper Salmon river. Those people that took them to their destination were Clinton and Vita Burt, Blaine and Thora Anderson and John and Janice Holmgren. The day begins at 10:30 a.m. There will be games for child- ren and adults with prizes awarded. A horseshoe tournament will be held with volleyball and Eaglo added attractions.
