Show 1 BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah Thursday, August 5, 1976 PLANNING CHAPTER EVENTS for the coming season are Alpha chapter of Beta Sigma Phi including Golden Petersen, corresponding secretary; Tami Williams, recording secretary; JoAnn Heninger, city council representative; Lynne Nance, president; new officers of the Xi Bear River Broncos Monday, July 19, at 9 a.m. the Bear River Broncos met to practice their Horsemanship. Sylvia Grimmett led everyone in this meeting because Susan Grimmett, the assistant leader, was in Salt Lake for some tests and to have her cast taken off. We all appreciate Sylvia, our junior leader, very much for her work. After working on horsemanship, everyone decided to ride to the house of a club member, Jeff Dallin, to see his new eolt, since the arena was too muddy to work in after irrigation. After a thorough inspection of the fal, the meeting was adjourned at 10:15. Dorie Smith, treasurer; Carolyn Olsen, vice president. chapter will resume regular activities in the fall, with a slate of cultural and social meetings being planned, by the officers for the group. But Cathy was, Bob is now easy to cook for and enjoys the nutritious meals she prepares. Cathy is a graduate of,Bear River High school and LDS seminary. She attended Utah State university in Logan for one year afterwhich she was employed doing secretarial work at Thiokol. After Bob and Cathy were married they lived in Garland three years before moving to Thatcher where they have lived for three years. They have two darling little daughters. Monica Lyn is two and tiny Becky Joe just five weeks old. Works With Brother Bob works with his brother at Davis Glass and Radiator in Tremonton. . Cathys hobbies include sewing for herself and her daughters, many various kinds of crafts, gardening and camping. Dip in Enchilada sauce.' Add browned hamburger and onions. Add cheese and roll up. Place remaining sauce over. Cover with cheese. Bake in over until cheese is melted. Tip on bottling unsweetened fruit (Pears, apricots, peaches, etc.) Prepare fruit for bottling. Pack tight in bottles. Pour unsweetened pineapple juice over it. (instead of water or sugar) Seal and cold pack for 20 DATE NUT COOKIES WEEK MUFFINS 2 c. boiling water, 2 c. 40 percent Bran 4 c. Bran buds, 2 c. sugar, 1 c. shortening, 4 eggs, well beaten, 5 c. flour, 5 tsp. soda, 1 tsp. salt, 1 qt. buttermilk, Pour water over Bran flakes and buds. Cool. Cream shortening and sugar; .add eggs. Beat in sifted dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Add Bran SIX Sift together: 2 yt c. flour, 1 tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp. salt, set aside. Combine: Vi c. butter, c. granulated sugar, i c. shortening, 3t c. br. sugar, firmly packed, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 tsp. water, Beat until creamy. Beat in 2 eggs. Add flour mixture. Add 1 Vi to 2 c. chopped dates, 1 c. chopped walnuts. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 min. . ' Perry Pulse Ponytail ball players end season at 2 5-- by Mrs. Max Nelson Twenty young girls from Perry between the ages of nine and 2 recently completed an enjoyable as well as successful tournament in the Ponytail softball games. The girls played a total of seven games, they had five wins and two losses. Members of the team were: Teresa Whitaker, Wendy Wilson, Mardi Rhodes, Maria Lori Crouch, Tammy Adams, Michelle Adams, Linda Val-carc- e, Christensen, Terri Peave, Tammy Peave, Cha Ree Wright, Kathy Lund, Peggy Nelson, Michelle Dwyer, Pattie Walker, Peggy Reeder, Shanel Anderson, Julie Davis, Melissa Thomas and Shantell Thomas. The girls were coached by Mrs. Joan Whitaker and Laurie Wright. Upon completing their tournament the girls were given a little party by their coaches at the Perry park. Games were played and each girl was presented a small trophy for her participation this season. Top Players 't The girls then voted on the top players. Teresa Whitaker was given a trophy as the best player and Wendy Wilson a trophy for the sportsmanship. With this being a presidential election year it is very important for everyone who is 18 years or older and not registered to make sure they do so on one of the few registration days left prior to the Sept. 14 primary elections. The residents of Perry are encouraged to remember Aug. 14 and Aug. 24 as these registra- - tion days. The Registration for Perry is Mrs. Wanda Sebek and she lives at 1120 Perry street. She reminds everyone she will be at her home on these days between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. to register all new people of the community or those who have just reached their 18 birthday or will do so by Nov. 2. If you have not registered in Perry or know someone who hasnt done so, encourage them to do so. Mrs. Wanda Sebek just returned form a ten day vacation to Southern California where she was introduced to her newest little granddaughter. Wanda was accompanied by Debbie, Rosalie and Annette Johnson and they traveled by bus to Los Angeles where they visited at the home of Joan and DeLoy Nielsen in Eagle rock. Welcome Daughter Joan and DeLoy welcomed their new little daughter, Katherine Ann on July 19. She weighed, seven pounds and 10 ounces. Especially excited over her arrival were Katherines older sisters, Michelle and Jenniffer who had just celebrated their third birthdays. On Saturday DeLoy took Debbie, Rosalie and Annette and Michelle, and Jenniffer and v spend the day at Disneyland. They also spent time shopping and enjoying the events of the big city.
