Rulon (Nedra Nelson) Nelson and her sisters hold old fashioned quilting bees at their , homes. These elegant, colorful quilts will eventually be given to their children when they marry and have homes of their own. Of course exciting, tempting goodies are part of all quilting bees and the ladies share recipes. Nedra, who didn't have to change her last name of Nelson when she married Rulon Nelson, spent the first ten years of her life as a youngster at Fish Haven. She has lived in Brigham City most of the time since. She attended Box Elder High school.-Shinterrupted her schooling to become the bride of Rulon when she was a junior. However, after their first two children were born, Nedra completed her high school education, graduating from Ogden high school. She also has her beautician license but has never practiced professionally. "I take care of my own hair and my daughters'. I also cut the boys hair," she said. She really is not interested in having a beauty salon. Shes thoroughly happy being a housewife and mother. She and Rulon have three sons and three daughters. Kenny, 18, attends trade tech in Salt Lake City; Tamara, 17, is a senior at Box Elder High school; Kevin, 16, is a junior at BEHS; Tori, 14, eighth grade, Robert, 8, is in second grade and Terf Lyn, 6, (the family idol) is in kindergarten. Hummel. The students, representing 14 tribes from 17 different agencies have been employed as data transcribers and clerks under the Federal Student Aid program. The student aides are working four hours a day during the peak processing season from January through the end of May. has worked in the Student Assistance program at the college, as an Education Opportunities instructor, and in the Upward Bound program. Most of the butter and all of the cheese purchased in 1975 were utilized in domestic donation programs, Gardner said. However, most of the nonfat dry milk purchased rem.ained in storage. He indicated thht the largest program use of nonfat dry milk was donations abroad. A relatively small amount was donated for domestic programs. At the end of 1975, CCC had no uncommitted inventory of butter or cheese, but about 425 million pounds of nonfat dry milk were in inventory Gardner stated. She cuts the scraps into five-inc- h lengths, li2 inches wide. She doubles them lengthwise and sews across in the middle, forming strips on a large piece of denim. The result is a decorative, colorful, durable, washable rug similar to shag. It adds a spark of color to any room. The Nelson family are a closely-kni- t family. They enjoy camping, tennis, swimming, roller skating, y. m The Box Elder Young Farmers chapter has elected new officers. Named president was Jack Burt of Bear River City, a beef rancher. Vice president is Roger Burt of Corinne with Kevin Nelson of Honeyville as secretary. Wallace Bingham of Honey-yill- e is reporter. The officers announced this week that the state convention is this week, Thursday and Friday, in Salt Lake City at the Salt Lake Hilton. Other items of business handled by the new officers include consideration of county and state tours tentatively slated for July; and evening meetings most always double the original recipe. The two older girls help me a lot. In fact, sometimes they prepare the entire meal when I am busy sewing. I love to sew. I made my husband a suit for Christmas. It turned out beautifully and I am now in the process of making him two other suits. Its really fascinating. She displayed the suit she had completed and the two she is presently working on and they certainly have a tailored look! Rulon is a machinist at Thiokol corporation, a position he has held since 1959. The Nelsons have a lovely, comfortable home at 316 West Seventh South.
