Show Portage Ponnings Brigham City and Logan visitors Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Devere Harris visited with their and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Craig Smith and daughter, Ami of Rexburg Wednesday. From there they went to Afton, Wyo., and to Liberty and returned Thursday night. Monday Mrs. Josh Hawks and Mrs. Wendell Hall attended the homecoming queen contest at reorganized by Maude R. Harris Virgil C. Harris was sustained as president of the Portage Ward Sunday school with counselors, Wendell C. Hall and Chester P. Neal at Sacrament meeting Sunday. Released were President, Stephen L. Harris and counselors, Ray Nielsen and Bruce Roderick. Jared Petty, six months son of Merrill and Carole Ann Gibbs Petty, died at his home in Farmington Saturday night of a heart ailment. Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. L. Gibbs spent Sunday with the family and also attended funeral services for the baby Tuesday at Farmington. Mr. and Mrs. John Clark are the proud parents of a baby boy born Friday, Nov. 7 at the Valley hospital in Tremonton, their fourth son. Mrs. Clark was the former Kathy Nelson of Ogden. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Clark of Portage, Mary Nelson and Jelmar Nelson of Ogden. Great grandparents include, Mr. and Mrs. Ora H. John of Portage and Mrs. Sarah Clark of Malad. Back Home Mr. and Mrs. Loyal G. Harris accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Don Staker of Blackfoot, Idaho returned to their homes Sunday from a vacation trip to Southern Utah. They visited with a brother of the ladies, Earl Lemon of St. George, and points of interest in that area, Zion and Bryce National parks. Weekend guest of Miss Susan Knudsen was Miss Linda Johnson of Tremonton. Bradley Gibbs and Julee Hawks, students of USU were weekend guests of their parents. . Mr. and Mrs. Joe Morris were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Clark of St. John. Among those who attended funeral services for Lee Hansen, husband of Melba Hall Hansen at Tremonton Thursday were: Mr. and Mrs. Ora H. John, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell C. Hall, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Harris, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Morris, Mrs. Laura K. Gibbs, Mrs. E. T. Hoskins, Mrs. Eliza Knudsen, Mr. and Mrs. Moyle Knudsen. Mr. John was one of the speakers, Mrs. Hall and Mrs. Hoskins sang a duet, accompanied by Mrs. Morris and Mr. Hall gave the closing USU. Fay Thomas and Sarah were Salt Lake City visitors Friday. Miss Marlene John of Laketown visited Saturday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Wynn John. Isabelle Nielsen and Mildred Tovey of Malad went to Pocatello Nov. 4 where Mrs. Neilsen was honored by her sister, Helen Thomas at a birthday dinner and an afternoon of visiting. Velda Harris and her sister, Lola Maughn of Wellsville attended the viewing of little Jared Petty at Farmington Monday evening. Howell prayer. Gale Gibbs of Sparks, Nev., arrived Monday to visit for a week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David P. Gibbs. Miss Peggy Sue John and Jedd Ricks, USU students, were Sunday dinner guests of Miss Johns parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Wynn John. In Weston Mrs. Jim Udy and children visited in Weston Saturday with Mrs. Udys sister, Mrs. Monte Waldron who has a new baby boy. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hoskins spent the weekend in Ogden area. They visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Workman and with Wayne, Jerry and Jack Hoskins and their families. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Harris visited in Salt Lake City from Tuesday until Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Phil R. Harris and family. Mrs. Joe Morris, Mrs. Thayne Hupp and daughters of Hansel Valley were Ogden visitors Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Hoskins of Clearfield spent the weekend here. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Call Sr. of Malad were Sunday guests of their and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Allen and family. Mrs. Ralph Howell entered the LDS hospital in Logan Sunday. She was taken there by hr sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Frazier of Tremonton and Mrs. Maurice Thomas. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Thomas and sons, Bryan and Burke of Green River, Wyo., visited from Friday until Tuesday with Reeds parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Thomas and other relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Facer of Taylorsville visited for several days during the week with Mrs. Facers mother, Mrs. Esther John. Among those who attended the Priesthood Preview banquet and meeting at Malad Stake Saturday evening were Brett Parkinson, James Henry, Gordon Knudsen, Robert and Bruce Gibbs, their fathers, Barry Parkinson, Earl Henry, Bud Knudsen and Bishop Douglas J. Gibbs. Mrs. Elizabeth Frazier of Tremonton is visiting this week and with her brother-in-lasister, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph son-in-la- Howell. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Nielsen attended the Golden Spike livestock show at Ogden Saturday. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Gary Cannon and family at North Ogden. The concert is free though an opportunity to donate in support of the Bell Ringers will be offered.
