The night of the election after finding out she won, Diane said she was still too flabergasted to think, so I would imagine she was thrilled and then I decided to get Stewarts comments. He was standing right by our car talking to us last night for 10 minutes. And it wasn't until after he had left that I realized that she was the new board member and I could have gotten his statement. Sometimes my thinker does not tick when it is supposed to. The holiday season is now upon us again as the children spied a Christmas tree in Sears window while we were driving down Main street. Too Soon? Maybe we adults think it is too soon for decorations and would like each one in their place, but the kids love it the sooner the better. We have an engagement to announce. Gaylene Richards, daughter of Lynn and Deon Richards of Mantua received her ring last Thursday from Kelly Morrill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Morrill of Corinne. They plan a February wedding. Gaylene was home from school last weekend along with JoLynn and her friend Grant Johnson. Who has been tripping around this past while. Guy and June Higley and Julie and Steve went on a quickie trip to Houston. They went to Galveston and spent a day on the beach in 82 degree sunshine weather. June said it was ever so much fun. Other trippers are Chet and Bernice Rasmussen who along with Melba and Glen Stoker went on a great trip all over. Hit Denver They first hit Denver where they stayed with a nephew Steve Stoker and family. From there they went on to Abiline, Kan., where they toured Eisenhowers home. On to Kansas City and Memphis, Arkansas and Alabama. In Tuscaloosa they picked up their nephew Richard Stoker who teaches at Alabama college and all five of them went on to Montgomery where they toured the capital and a museum on Jefferson Davis. Next stop was Pensacola, Fla. They enjoyed the beach there and drove around the city and saw all the sights. The most enjoyable spot Bernice said was the Bellingrath gardens at Mobile, Ala. She said they are just beautiful. From Mobile they were headed for New Orleans when they became involved in an auto- - Bridgerland Area Vocational center is offering nurses aide and home health aide training in Brigham City. The class was scheduled to begin Nov. 6 at Pioneer Memorial Nursing home and students are still being accepted. Interested persons can enroll by contacting Sam Gordon, or BAVC director, at Lois Lundberg at the nursing home or Lawrence Green, local BAVC coordinator. 723-687- Flrst Place The Mantua play took first place in the stake and will be put on at the North Stake center, Saturday night at 7 p.m. If you would like a fun evening go see Oh Albert, You Promised, starring Debbie Wyatt, Debbie Sara, John Bigler, Brad Hall, Stewart Richards and David Jeppsen. Stewart Reeves as the specialist with Lynn Larsen as the youth director. Mantua play will be first on the program so arrive early or at least on time. I think you will enjoy it. The Cordell Ferrys had a fun dinner Monday night for all of 22 people. Deon gave a birthday dinner for her grandma Graser. She said it was very fun and all the grandkids performed. The grandmother showed pictures and told stories of the good old days. Other birthday parties was one for Elizabeth Houser on Saturday and one for Mary Jo 2nd is Jill Hansen. Becky Johnson is the 6th; Ruth on the 7th; Peter Clawsen on the 8th; Petersen is on the 9th. The 11th is Ellis Nelson, Margaret Clawsen, Ben Higley and Michael Wyatt. The 13th is Juleen Sorensons and Eileen Rasmussen and Judy Hailing on the 14th. The 15th is Debbie Sara. Guy a Higley, Grace Noyes and Tarn-erJohnson are on the 16th. On the 17th is Melvern Palmer and Kathy Palazzolo. Leon Johnson is on the 18th. The 20th is Dean Hallings; 21st is Frank Houser d and the 27th is Martin Sout- herns. Mary Ann Saras is on the 23td and Randa Wilson's is on the 23rd, also. Dianne Allred on the 25th and Mona Sorensons is on the 26th. Ida Nelsen on the 28th.
