On their return Mrs. Hall hosted a lunch at her home where they spent the remainder of the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. James E. John left Saturday for a vacation trip to Boise, Idaho, where they will visit with Mrs. Johns brother-in-laand sister, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Peterson and at Notus, Idaho, with Mr. Johns brother and sister-in-laMr. and Mrs. John LaVern and other relatives and friends. Brad Gibbs, victim of a severe football accident and patient of the Valley Hospital in Tremonton for several days, returnsd to BRHS Monday using crutches. Mrs. Joe Morris accompanied her daughter, Mrs. Thayne Hupp of Hansel Valley to Ogden Thursday where they spent the day. Mr. anf Mrs. Merrill Squires of Mesa, Ariz., and Mr. and Mrs. David Squires of Ogden visited on Monday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Snow and family. Medical Help Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth M. Ward brought Mrs. Wards parents, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Conley from Idaho Falls Friday night. Saturday they went to Salt Lake City where Mrs. Conley is receiving medical treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell C. Hall visited in Logan Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Callister and Miss Beverly Jenkins. Saturday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. Wynn John were members of the North Rich High school drill team of Laketown, who had par in the USU ticipated Homecoming parade at Logan, Rose Lee Webb, Cheryl Floyd, Mary Ellen Floyd, and Marlene John. Miss John, teacher at North Rich, is leader of' the group. Devere Harris was a speaker at the funeral service for Teresa Swenson at Malad Monday. Dr. and Mrs. Ray Sessions and family left Monday for their home in Boulder, Colo., after visiting for several days with Mrs. Sessions parents, Mr. and Mrs. Loyal G. Harris. Dr. Sessions participated in the deer hunt in Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Deward John and son Douglas of Blackfoot were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. Johns mother, Mrs. Esther John. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Bell of Ogden visited Saturday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arvel Bell Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Snow. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lee and sons of Salt Lake City visited with Mr. and Mrs. E. Wyim John and family Friday. Lee was a missionary companion of the late Leon John. Mr. and Mrs. John McCann and family of Sunset visited Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Morris. Elder Devere Harris was the speaker at the young adult conference at Idaho State university at Pocatello Friday. Billie Gibbs of Hooper and Sid Gibbs of Tremonton visited with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. L. Gibbs and also participated in the deer hunt Saturday. Larry Knudsen of Bountiful visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bud Knudsen and with Mr. and Mrs. E.T. Hoskins Sunday. multi-region- Mrs. The recent rise in the price of copper has increased thefts of telephone wire according to local exchange manager Boyd E. Newman. Sixteen people have been arrested in Utah for cutting copper wire from telephone lines during the past year. The wire is generally sold to salvage yards or taken out of state. This year wire valued at $38,000 has been stolen from various Utah lines adding up to over one million conductor feet of wire. Some of the thefts have been committed by people identifying themselves as Mountain Bell employees, according to Newman. In a recent incident in Tooele county, three men told ranchers they were under contract to remove the lines. rancher One became The city of Manti was entirely cut off from long distance telephone communications earlier this year when wire and Rosalie Hill of daughters, Downey, Kay Williams of Malad and Ila Mae John of Portage visited Tuesday with Vernal P. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Udy and family were Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bart Williams and family of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Udy took her children and the Williams children to Hogle Zoo town. He pointed out the danger to residents of small communities who depend on phone service to summon emergency help from neighboring towns. Newman asked the public to help protect the telephone service of neighbors by reporting any suspicious activities near telephone lines to local police or sheriffs office. Mountain Bell linemen can be identified by their vehicles or company I.D. badges when they are working on the telephone lines. where they enjoyed the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Henderson and son of Riverdale visited Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Arvel Bell Jr. Mrs. Henderson is a sister of Bell. Mr. and Mrs. Moyle Knudsen were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred R. Richardson of Rock Springs, Wyo. Mr. and Mrs. Joedy Anderson and daughter of Brigham City were the guests of Mrs. Andersons parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Roderick Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd John of Perry visited Wednesday with Mr. Johns mother, Mrs. Esther John.
