Show Artist's works, Japanese exhibit slated Brigham Citys museum-galler- y will couple the work of Utah artist Farrell R. Collett with a collection of Japanese arts and crafts for the November exhibit, with the preview reception of the exhibit to be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. for the public to meet the artist. Farrell Collett, professor of art at Weber State college, is ranked as one of the greatest in the field of outdoor painting. His love of people, history, geography and natural history has led him into portraiture, murals of history, and landscapes. His work in portrayal of wild animals and horses is noted nationally, as are his portraits of western history and of Indians. from families in the local area. The exhibit has been coordinated by Miyoko Sato, Mary Morinaka, and Fusaye Shiotani who will also have a typical floral dried Japanese arrangement on display. Items will include many old Japanese arts and will give a view of crafts that miss the modern tourist eye including kimonos, embroidery, fabrics, paintings, delicate china, and a collection of Japanese vases that have been lent to the museum-gallerlocal by residents of Japanese descent. y y A Utah National division,' Association for Mental Health, at its annual meeting in Salt Lake City.
