Utah Valley Symphony draws woman, sisters by Flo Munson Mrs. Gladys Bishop accompanied by her sisters Mrs. Pearl Rhodes of Spring Valley, Nev., and Mrs. Vera Taylor of Denver attended the gala opening concert of the Utah Valley Symphony held in the LDS Tabernacle in Provo Wednesday. Mrs. Taylor's son Brent is president of the Utah Valley Symphony. Mrs. Ferrell Wood is spending a week with her and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Boman and family in Lewiston. The Bomans are proud parents of a little son born Oct. 23 in the Logan hospital. They have one small son Richard at home. A Halloween carnival will be held at the Garland Elementary School this evening (Thursday). It is under the direction of the PTA president Mrs. Beth Misrasi. Returning Thursday evening k after a vacation in the Hawaiian Islands were Mr. and Mrs. Durrell Hughes. Community classes start this week and regular Another session of classes are beginning this week at Lake View Community school. Registration will take place at the first class and fees are $4 and $5 depending on the class. Classes beginning on Monday, Nov. 4, include art, motor skills, photography, Spanish, ballet and readers theater. A ceramics class will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 4 p.m., while group guitar and a class in small motors will be held on mini-course- s -- Thursday, Nov. 7. Saturday, Nov. 9, will see the beginning of classes in judo, baton, and group piano. A series of 10 lessons for Junior drill team will begin on Saturday at noon. Ages will be 13 and under with groups divided according to age and ability. Skills to be taught are splits, kicks, flicks and simple drills. Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Allred and daughter Tamra visited Mr. and Mrs. Vern Allred in Ogden. Spending Sunday in Salt Lake City were Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Davis and son1 Darren. Mrs. Monty Seager entertained at a party at her home Friday for her little daughter Wendy who was eight years old. Twenty little friends enjoyed an afternoon of fun games.
