The first Methodist preaching in Corinne was by G. M Pierce, a resident Methodist missionary, on June 15, 1870, a little more than one year after the joining of the rails of the Central Pacific and the Union Pacific railroads a few miles west of the townsite This Sunday's service will include utilizing the antique pump organ as an addition to the service honoring those servicemen who sacrificed so much in order to preserve, maintain, and help continue striving for, a better quality of life. friends of Aldersgate are planning to attend the pancake supper and Members provided by the Community United Methodist Church in Tremonton, Saturday evening, Nov. 9, 5.30-- p m. The proceeds of the event will enable 8 Tremonton Methodists to complete their new carpet and project. The Aldersgate Tremonton United Presbyterian Sunday morning worship service is at 10:30. This coming Sunday we will celebrate Reformation Day. A short letter from one of the Protestant Reformers to his child will be read. Rev. Lawson will show how the theme of "love used throughout the month of October was very central to the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century. A congregational meeting will be held at the close of the worship service for the purpose of electing elders, deacons, and youth deacons.. Coffee will be served afterward at Gillespie Hall. ' Tuesday mornings the Junior Highs meet at Holy Cross Lutheran church at 7:15 for Bible discussion and good fellowship. Bring a friend. Cocoa and donuts are served. Cooperative Church school at 3:30 on Tuesdays in gillespie Hall. All children ages three through sixth grade are invited. Cost of the luncheon, as usual, will be 64 cents. Following the meal, a film on diabetes will be shown. This film is from the national office of the American Association of Retired persons. Diabetics Unaware will be followed by a discussion and questions answered by Dr. John Bailey, director of Bear River Health district. He would like questions written to be handed to him before the film. Many people are unaware of having diabetes until it is in an advanced stage and more difficult to treat. All interested persons are urged to attend this showing, whether or not they come to lunch. The film will be shown at 1 for reserp.m. Call vations for the luncheon by Thursday noon. 1 Will Close The community center will be closed Oct. 28 so there will not be a Monday luncheon. There will not be a square dance in the evening. The next luncheon on Monday will be Nov. 4, with bingo following. The cost for the Monday luncheon is 64 cents and card players are invited to attend the luncheon and play cards during the afternoon.
