Show 20 BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah Plymouth Ponderings Thursday, October 24, 1974 Family visited by son in AF Grouse Creek News Deer hunters flock here; two residents leave hospital Friday evening with Richard and Joan Kimber. Lyman and Eula Kimber attended UEA in Salt Lake. They went on Wednesday and Carol Warburton and Kenna Tanner taught school in their absence. Eula was in charge of a ceramics and miscellaneous booth display at the UEA by Marge Thompson So far everything seems to be going fine. Only a few deer shot but no accidents reported. With as many hunters as came in the last few days it seems impossible that they can avoid shooting each other. Mrs. Wilda Kimber was Dee released from the hospital in Ogden last Friday. She stayed with her sister and brother-in-law- , Darlene and Pete Johnson in Ogden until Monday then came home. Ray and David Kimber went down to bring her home. They made several trips while she was hospitalized. Wilda is feeling much better but has to stay down. Mrs. Raida Kimber was also in the Ogden hospital on Thursday, having tests taken. She also visited Mrs. Ev who was there from recent recovering surgery. Raida spent a few days in Brigham and Ogden with her families. In Ogden she stayed with her mother, Mrs. Nell Betteridge. She came home Mc-Ka- y convention. The Relief Society held their opening social on Tuesday with a tasty luncheon. President Raida Kimber, Counselors Vera Tanner and Kenna Tanner, secretary, Fern Kimber were in charge of the meeting. A resume of the years lesson topics were presented by the teachers. Opal Kimber, Irma Warburton, Rhea Toyn and Carol Warburton. Mrs. Flora Gross was a special guest. Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Adams and family, Laura, Jean and Brian of Burley were Sunday dinner guests of Lyman and Eula Kimber. They presented the program in Sacrament meeting. Herbert and Vera Tanner received word that they have another new great grand- Little daughter. Brenda Christensen was born to Verna Mae and George Christensen Friday in Burley. They also have a little two year old boy, Bart. Audrey and Vernon Teeter, proud grandparents, were telling the news. The Teeters and daughter Sheila, and also Frankie Culliman of Las Vegas, Nev. called on the Tanners for a short visit Thursday. Mrs. Grace Warburton, Mrs. Irma Warburton and daughter, Rosemary, were in Brigham Wednesday on a business trip. Hughie and Marge Thompson and sons, Blair and Brian, and Mrs. Vera Tanner were in Brigham over the weekend to and attend the wedding reception for Carla Clark and Terry Hansen. Marge and Verg also attended a bridal shower at the home of Mrs. Joy Johnston. On Friday Hughie, Blair and Brian spent some time in Portage visiting LaNette and Mike Hunsaker and baby, Nicki. Hughie and Vera came home after the reception Friday evening. Marge and boys stayed and came home with LeAnn and Bambi Thompson Saturday night. Blair and Brian were breakfast guests and went bird hunting with Jeff Gardner in Bear River City. Ed Harris was in Provo Monday to attend funeral services for his sisters husband. Patriarch Willard Cranney and Bishop Robert Sagers of were Sacrament Oakley meeting speakers and guests of Lyman and Eula Kimber. Honeyville Hotline Dads, sons 'n hunting by Sharon Mecham Oct. 16 the Wednesday, Honeyville school held its father and son night. The title of the Hunting night of fun was Spectacular. Every boy from each class from kindergarten up made their own weapon and brought it and they were judged and a prize was given for each class for the best weapon. Also there was a display of antique weapons. Some that were used in pioneer days on one of the mail routes from Salt Lake to southern Utah. Also there was an archery expert on hand to show the boys the art of archery and how its done. The night was topped off with and hot donuts, cider, chocolate. Mrs. Lois Coombs, the registrar for Honeyville, would like to remind everyone who hasnt registered to vote that their last chance will be Oct. 29 on Tuesday between p.m. at her home. Mrs. Laura Tolman is back home after two weeks in the hospital. Everyone wishes her a speedy recovery. Sometime during the next week the census taker will be around to take the school census. Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. the October Pack meeting will be held at the church. All the parents and families of the Cub Scouts and Webeloes are invited acto see the out complishments made by their boys during October. The PTA committee members would like everyone to start thinking about the Halloween carnival next week. It will start at 6:30 p.m. at the school and there will be a spook alley, a cake walk, prizes for the best costumes, plenty of food games, and also a raffle. Anyone with some spare time on their hands that would like to help in the booths and games they could call Karen Hunsaker 9 School Accident Little Terrie Lynn Tanner met with an accident at school on Friday. She ran into the medicine cabinet and cut her forehead. She had to be taken to a Burley Hospital for stitches. Terrie is a daughter of Bishop Merlin and Kenna Tanner. Hughie and Marge Thompson had an enjoyable trip to Boise this week. We left on Sunday to attend the regional meeting of the National Rural Electric on Saturday evening in Burley. All members of their family and grandchildren were there to honor their parents and grandparents. A lovely program was enjoyed. Slides of each nf. the honored couple taken throughout their lives were shown. An outstanding number was a duet sung by two of their sons, Marvel and Dwain Lind. The song was an original composition of Cora and Margene Our Junction Lind entitled Valley Home. Lyman Kimber, Archie Toyn, Pearl Harris and Raymond Bean were the orchestra for the dancing. Others attending from Grouse Creek were Rhea Toyne, Eula Kimber, Ed Harris, Winfred and Olive Kimber, Verl and Delma Lucln Village News Visitors at the home of Harold and LaRetta Smith on Tuesday were Lester and Leona Carson of Ogden, Mrs. Julia Frost of Brigham, Leland Wakefiled of Washington Terrace and Claude of Seattle, Wash. Wakefiled These folks are all brothers and sisters and they had a most enjoyable visit. Callers at the homes of the villagers on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Vincente Erquiaga Smith. Olive Kimber returned to Ogden with Delma and Verl Smith after they had spent the weekend here. Floyd Tanner is spending some of his vacation with his parents, Herbert and Vera He came out from Bountiful on Wednesday and stayed fro a week. Members of his family, Marshall and Julann Tanner came out and spent the weekend. Other weekend guests of the Tanners were their son, Darrell Tanner of Oj$en and Rulon Miles of Eden, a grandson, Jerry Clark and his friend, Kevin (Ernie) Skenandore of Brigham, Robert Tarroy, a of Brigham brought his Tanner. weeks visiting Dr. Piersons parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pierson. Wednesday the entire group visited at Hill AFB. Thursday they attended a football game with Bear River High vs. Bonneville in Ogden where Russell Pierson was one of the participants. Joseph Stokes spent several days of the week in St. Louis, Mo., on business for Murdocks Free Port Center in Clearfield. Mr. and Mrs. Eddie spent Saturday visiting Van-derho- in Ogden. Ricky Stokes was fortunute to get a deer near Promontory. He and his fiance, Sheila Showell of Ogden, spent the weekend visiting Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stokes and family. Saturday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stokes and family were Mr. and Mrs. Gary Barnes of Ogden. the weekend Spending visiting Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Secrist was their daughter Miss Joan Secrist who is one the the at faculty Naples Elementary school in Vernal. Returning Sunday after an enjoyable week vacation in Nevada were Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Estep. They visited Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Estep in Hawthorne and Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Taylor in Winnemucca. Spending Sunday visiting Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Mason and Mr. and Mrs. Hal Mason and family were Wanda Lloyd and Mrs. Darlene Simmons and chldren of Salt Lake City. Spending the weekend near Park Valley hunting deer were Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Hess and sons Tommy and Jimmy and daughter Julie and LaDawna Burgess. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Cleon Hess and son Nolan of 6L Tremonton. Bud Grover of East Garland brought LeAnn and Blake Thompson from Ogden and from Bambi Thompson Brigham home to Grouse Creek for the weekend. LeAnn returned with Don Tanner on Sunday, Bambi and Bud stayed with the Hughie Thompsons until Tuesday morning. Irvin Kimber, David Runyon and Eugene Wong of Salt Lake were weekend visitors of Lyman and Eula Kimber. Dennis and Laraine Kimber and their family, Larry, Grant, Denise, Suzanne, Nadine and Lucinda, came out from Logan to spend the weekend with their mother, Mrs. Annie Kimber and Emily Kimber. friend, Gary Anderson y Draw Crowd There was a crowd at the summer homes of Charles and Leah Kimber, Arlando and Rhea DuVall. Chuck and Kathy Kimber and son, Chuck, and Kaylene and Larry Seager and children, Shawn and Stephanie, Elsie and Arvol Smith, Dale and Marilyn Smith all of Brigham were here. Elsie is recuperating from a broken leg and Rhea DuVall has just been released from the Brigham hospital where she has been for some time. It seemed good to see her recuperating also. Harold and LaRetta Smith hosted the Bible class members at their home Sunday. Mabel (proud Grandma) McDade arrived home on Monday from Willard where she had spent two weeks with her son and daughter-in-law- , Terry and Joyce McDade, waiting for and giving assistance after the birth of her first grandchild, Marcia Lynn McDade. Mabel B. Smith was visiting with another daughter, Mildred Hickman, at Willard and returned home with her daughter, Mabel McDade. On Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Roy Barlow of Brigham and Mrs. Barlows sister and brother-in-law- , Mr. and Mrs. West of St. George were callers at the Lucin Village. son-in-la- Cooperative held there. Wallace Spencer of Yost was elected to the National Board of NRECA, to represent the State of Idaho. Wallace and Dorothy Spencer also represented the Raft River Electric Coop of Malta, Idaho, at the meetings. Fred Thompson accompanied us as far as Bliss, Idaho where he visited Milo and Larena Thompson and their daughter, at Delma and Verl Smith were out from Ogden to try their luck at deer hunting. They visited with their father, Winfred Kimber. Frank Lee and Myron Kimber came out from Grantsville to hunt deer. Russell Lee and his son, Russell, were here from Ogden and Myrons son, Michael Kimber came out from California. Edward Frost and sons, Breqt and Gary Frost, parked their trailers at Tanners, visited and hunted over the weekend. Jeff Sederholm of Brigham and Bruce Munns of Harper were also with the Frosts. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Petersen are spending a week in Granger visiting Mrs. Bob Jensen and family and Mrs. Charles Christensen and family. Thursday Mrs. Jane Udy accompanied by Mrs. Lenore Silvester of Riverside joined of their sister Mrs. Eva Zundel at the home of Mrs. Genevieve Jensen in Brigham City for a delicious dinner party. They were later joined by their brother Reed Hess of Ogden and Mrs. Mary Thompson of Brigham City. Out of Hospital Mr. and Mrs. Ray Udy are happy to report that their small grandson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Ray Udy of Tremonton has been released from the Primary Childrens hospital in Salt Lake City where he underwent surgery. Terry is only 1 y2 years old. Mrs. Verna Jean Wakely and family of Bancroft, Idaho, spent the weekend visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Lamb and family. Saturday Mrs. Lamb and daughter Elaine and Mrs. Wakley and children accompanied by Mrs. Ray Udy and daughter Ella Rae visitied in Edith Atkinson Mrs. Samaria.
