Home From Hospital Sterling Burton returned home Thursday after undergoing major surgery in the Holy Cross hospital in Salt Lake City. He was released from the hospital a few days and he and his wife spent a few days visiting Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Peterson and family and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Orton and family prior to returning home in order for him to be near his doctor. R. T. Nish of Logan has been spending the past week visiting his and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Rosel Zundel. Mason and family of Salt Lake City spent the weekend visiting Sutherland reunion held in Blacksmithfork Canyon Friday through Sunday of last week was Mrs. Alene Sutherland. She was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sutherland and family of Ogden. They were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Glade Sutherland and family of Logan and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Goodsell and family of Newton. Visiting Douglas Wood in the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Wood. They were accompanied by Lola Estep of Tremonton. Local girl enters best essay A Brigham City girl has captured first place in the Utah American Legions annual essay contest. She is CheRee Parkinson, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garth E. Parkinson, 566 South Sixth West. A sophomore at Box Elder High school, she first captured top place in District One and then was accorded the winners trophy at the state level. Receives Mission Call Mrs. Lenore Silvester was happy to receive a phone call from her grandson Tom Silvester of Layton reporting he had received a call to serve a LDS Mission in Japan. Saturday visitors at the home of Mrs. Ward were Mr. and Mrs. Willis Petersen of Riverton and her and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Walter Harris of Fitness class will begin here Sept. 4 fitness class for both men and women, offered under auspices of the Box Elder School district community school program, will begin A Wednesday, Sept. 4. Sessions are planned each morning beginning at 6:30 a. m. in the Box Elder Junior High School gymnasium with Richard Kimber as instructor. The cost is $5 per month or $35 a year. The morning sessions will consist of 30 minutes of calisthenics and 30 minutes for free activity such as basketball, swimming, etc. All local residents are invited to participate. Basin, Wyo.
