Show 18 BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Garland Gazette Brigham City, Utah Thursday, June 13, 1974 Two scholarships Buzzing Bear River Ray Niles and two daughters Kathy and Diane of Belliville, 111., spent two days last week with the John Udy family. The Udys met the Niles last when they were in Virginia but in the meantime Mrs. Niles and an older daughter were killed in an automobile accident. Joyce Julander and children left Monday afternoon to stay in Heber with her folks. Steven Julander is going to stay down there for a while. The two girls, Cindy and Brenda, came home with their aunt Arlene Bergener Sunday. Miss Bergener is attending classes at Weber State college this week. o Duane Julander is in in class a teaching connection with his job for the summer Mon-tecell- A.B.S. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Nessen came up from Ogden to visit with the Boyd Hawkes. The two couples drove out to Howell to call on the Edgar Nessens and the Verl Nessens and spent a while visiting with Mrs. Earl Wood. Mrs. Larry Peterson and two children from Ogden have spent the past week with her parents, the Bobby Barkers. Filled Up Mr. and Mrs. John Hardy have had their social calendar filled this week. They first attended a temple session in Logan on Wednesday with Clifford Jensen and Ann Everton. Then afterwards they were dinner guests of Clifford Jensen. Dinner Guests Thursday evening they were dinner guests of Ethel and Theo Johnson and Monday night they were at the Florence Gardner home for the home evening. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Davis and small son were visiting the Alvem Davis Sunday and attended church services. Miss Cindy Misrasi stayed with her grandparents over the weekend, Mr. and Mrs. LaMarr Iverson. Ciny just got back from a trip to old Mexico with the Spanish class at Bear River Junior High and she brought her grandparents a surprise gift. Vida Burt left Friday for Blanding to be with her sister, Rula Checketts, who is J seriously ill. Sunday, word was received that Mrs. Checketts had passed away. Sunday, Rulas son Preston and his family left for Blanding. Mr. and Mrs. John Hardy, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Archibald left Monday for Blanding where they will attend the funeral services for Mrs. Checketts on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Mario Checketts and daughter Margo also left th same day to attend the funeral. Lloyd and Fay Johnsen and family are staying with his parents, the Vernon Johnsens, until Lloyd locates his next place of employment. Ruby Hansen is spending a few days with her daughter Janyce Holmgren. Gertrude Jensen had a nice birthday Saturday. Several of the family members were present and those who were not sent her greetings. Maxine Adamson of Brigham spent Monday afternoon and evening with her mother Mrs. Lula Clayson. daughter Candace and Dollie Iverson attended the Days of 47 Queen Coronation at the state capitol in Salt Lake Monday evening. Barbara Hawkes, Dave and Nancy Worthen, Bob Rust and Steven and Robyn Hawkes and daughter Jammee Lee all from Salt Lake City were Saturday evening guests at the home of Boyd and Senneth Hawkes. Miss Margaret Christensen of Logan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A1 Fuhriman recently received a $150 scholarship from Phi Kappa Phi at the Utah State university in Logan. She also received a Meads Laboratory scholarship of $500 given by the American Dietetic association. Mrs. Nephi Visiting Westergard in the St. Benedicts hospital in Ogden Sunday were Nephi Westergard, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Westergard and Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Austin.
