Mr. and Mrs. Ray Clark of St. i John visited Friday with Mr. y. f and Mrs. Joe Morris. Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Morris are sisters. Sharrell Williams, son Michael and daughter, Julie Ann of Henderson, Nev., were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. Wynn John Monday. Julie Ann visited all week with her uncle and aunt. Mr. and Mrs. James Udy are the proud parents of a baby girl born June 3rd at Ogden. They now have one son and two daughters. Mrs. Udy was the former Jeannetta Williams. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Williams of St. John and Mr. and Mrs. DeLos Udy of Riverside. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Nielsen and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Nielsen were among those who attended meeting Sacrament at East Garland Sunday evening in the interest Elder J oe Oyler who reported his LDS mission. Mrs. Ray Nielsen is a sister of Elder Oyler. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Allen and family and Mr. and Mrs. Bud of I Knudsen and family were among those who attended Thiokol Day at Lagoon Saturday. Miss Robin Williams of Salt Lake City is visiting this week with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. James Udy and family. Mrs. Cora McCrary and son Vance of Ogden were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ora H. John. Miss Julee Hawks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Josh Hawks and student of USU, has been i r the new chapter in the church sorority, Lambda Delta Sigma. Mrs. Virgil Harris was among those who attended a "Pink and Blue shower in honor of Mrs. Lon Williams at her home in Salt Lake City Thursday evening. Miss Marlene John, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Wynn John was among graduates of USU at excercises Saturday morning at home a the Spectrum, economics major. In attendance were her parents and all of her brothers and sisters: Mr. and Mrs. W. Wynn John of Lafayette, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Skip Chandler, Salt Lake Citv: Mr. and Mrs. Marvin John, Bountiful; J. Neal, Larry Lynn, Peggy Sue, Mary Ann and Melonie John. Marlene will teach a summer course in home school economics at Bear River High school for the next few weeks and will teach at Laketown this fall. Following graduation excercises at Logan, Mrs. John hosted a family dinner at Marlenes apartment with all family members and Miss of Susan Rindlisbacker Deweyville present. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Harris were weekend guests of their Mr. son and daughter-in-law- , and Mrs. Phil R. Harris and family of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell C. Hall visited Wednesday in Ogden with Mr. and Mrs. Don Bowen and family. Visits Mother Mr. and Mrs. Josh Hawks visited in Midvale Monday with Mrs. Hawks mother, Mrs. Jo Morris. Tuesday they attended the wedding ceremony uniting Mrs. Mae Larson and Leslie Dunn at the Provo LDS temple. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell C. Hall attended graduation excercises at USU Saturday morning for graduate Jenkins Juanita McAllister who is an elementary education major. Juanita is the daughter of the late Herald and Roxie Jenkins of Portage and the wife of Ray McAllister of Logan. Following the excercises they were dinner guests of Dr. and Mrs. Devere McAllister at their home in Logan. Also of interest of the Halls was Debbie Stevenson, a graduate with an elementary education major. Debbie is the daughter of Evan and Vera Jean Hall Stevenson sustained as vice president of of Logan. W from Christene Gibbs became the bride of Paul Lindorf. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noel D. Gibbs of Perry. Mrs. Gibbs and her husband and many Portage people attended the reception honoring the newlyweds at the Perry ward meeting house the same evening. P. Jones of Malad on his 81 birthday with a visit and refreshments Saturday. Arthur L. Gibbs visited from Wednesday until Saturday in Wendell, Idaho, with Mr. and Mrs. El Void Gibbs. L. H. Thorpe of Leadville, Colo., came for his wife and family who have visited for the past two weeks with Mrs. Thorpes parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Morris. They left for their home Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard came of Ogden Hoskins Saturday to get their son, Todd who has visited for the past week with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Hoskins. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Thomas and family attended a family party at Malad Wednesday evening, the occasion being the birthday anniversary of Mrs. Thomas mother, Mrs. Tom Perry. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hun-sakof Ogden have purchased the home formerly owned by Mr. and Mrs. Bary Roderick, better known to former Portage residents as the old Clarence Phillips home. The Hunsakers and their baby daughter will move into the home in the near d future. Griffiths, and Mrs. Mary Holman of Brigham City and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Call of Perry City miss Graduates Dale Thomas was among USU graduates Saturday morning with a secondary science major. He has received a contract to teach at South Cache Junior high this fall. His wife and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Thomas were in attendance at the commencement excercises Saturday and the baccalaurete Friday and Ms. Dale Thomas received her PHT degree at exercises Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hoskins visited Friday with Mrs. Hoskins sister, Beth Workman of Green River, Wyo., who is being treated at the McKay-De- e hospital in Ogden following surgery. Their granddaughter, Kathy Hoskins returned with them and is visiting with her grandparents this week. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Cannon and sons of North Ogden were Sunday guests of Mrs. Cannons parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Nielsen. Mrs. Gibbs Allen and Mrs. Mae Pieper visited the family of Myron Jones Sr. at the Benson Mortuary in Malad Thursday Temple Friday where her BfircSAOffi Cum luude honors meeting Sunday evening. Mrs. Thomas other counselor is Mary Y. John. Kent Thomas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Thomas, received a call from the First Presidency in Salt Lake City to serve an LDS mission in Florida South. Cameron John of Logan is visiting this week with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ora H. John. Mrs. David P. Gibbs attended the session at the Ogden, LDS granddaughter, Perry Pulse Elaine Jenks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Varsel Jenks graduated from Utah State university Saturday morning. Elaine graduated with a BS degree in home economics education. She graduated magna cum laude having obtained a grade point average between 3.8 and 4.0. She was a member of the National Honorary society, Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Upsilon Omierom. Among her Perry. many was completing her college in three years. She was elected personality of the year of the college of Family Life. She also served in student government on Family Life council. She worked in the home economics office part time. Elaine was president of USU student section of American Home Economics association and is planning a trip to Los to attend a Angeles June national convention. She is now teaching summer home economics at Piute High school where she will be teaching next school year. Besides running the home there economics department she will be teaching all the home economics classes, she will be teaching health and physical education, will be cheerleader advisor and FHA advisor. Mr. and Mrs. Varsel Jenks traveled to Logan on Saturday to see Elaine receive her degree. Also among the graduates on was Russell Saturday Rasmussen. Russell received in his masters degree engineering. Members of the Rasmussen family traveling to Logan on Saturday morning to see Russell get his degree and to hear Vice President Ford were Russells wife Anne and children, Peter, Kurt, Eric and Maren and they were joined by Chad and Kirsten Hunsaker of 23-2- 8 Logan. Also receiving his degree in engineering was a former resident of Perry, Don Kase. At Graduation Paul and Darlene Krambule and daughter Susan attended graduation services at USU on Saturday to see their daughter- - Elaine Jenks ...cum laude each and receive their diplomas and hear Vice President Ford. Dars wife Jan. L. Krambule received her BS degree from the college of education and graduated with cum laude honors. She also received a pin for having achieved a straight A for three consecutive quarters. Jan will now goon and further her education and work for her masters working in the field of child psychology. Paulas husband, John Randall Call received his degree in the humanities arts and social sciences and he also graduated cum laude. Following the graduation exercises a luncheon was held at the home of Dar and Jan Krambule in honor of the new graduates. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Krambule and daughter Susan of Perry; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Call and daughter Ann of Brigham City; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Lisonbee and daughter Sherry, Mr. and Mrs. Dar Krambule and Mr. and Mrs. John Call, all of Logan. Dar Krambule will be volunteer vice president of the studentbody at USU next year. Dar is working with the exceptional children at the college. Robert and Mary Lou Call were also on hand for the in-la- son-in-la- services graduation Saturday. Their on son-in-la- Richard Potter received his business. On Sunday a family dinner masters degree in Vacationed Two families from Perry have vacationed in the Northwest this past week taking time to visit at the Worlds Fair. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Poulsen and children, Reese and Joy spent two days taking in the activities of the fair in Spokane, Wash. On their way up they stopped in Rupert, Idaho, and visited with Max and Jean Facer and then on their way home they traveled to Helena, Mont., and visited Wayne and Maxine Toombs. They also stopped at Lava Hot Springs for some swimming on their return home. Some of the highlights of their weeks vacation was enjoying the beautiful countryside and visiting the different farms. Mr. and Mrs. Varsel Jenks and family, Gaylin, Ardell, Weldon, LaVonna, Norman, Marlyn, and Deanna also spent some time last week at the Worlds Fair. During their vacation they stopped to visit with many relatives along the way. Mart and Hazel Nelson traveled to Oregon last week. They helped their daughter and Carol and Tom Hurst and children, Cammie Rae and Chad to move to Troutsdale, Ore. emTom has excepted ployment with an airline in Troutsdale and the Hursts will now make their residence there. Mart and Hazel visited for a couple of days with them before six-da- Basic completed Private Homar E. Gonzalez Jr., 18, whose parents live at First East 24 West, Brigham Utah, completed eight weeks of basic training at the U.S. Army training center, infantry, Ft. Polk, La. He received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, combat tactics, City, military courtesy, military justice, first aid, and army history and traditions. Pvt. Special get well wishes go to Vinson Davis who underwent major surgery last week at the McKay Hospital in Ogden. Born June 7 at the McKay hospital in Ogden the new little miss weighed seven pounds and 15 ounces. As of yet no name has been chosen.
