Imogene RuthHedin Johnson, Pioneer Memorial Nursing home in Brigham City, died June 11 after a lingering illness. Mrs. Johnson was born Oct. 26, 1927, in Beyers, Colo, to Milo Leonard and Letha Peral Pebley Hedin. She married Vern Johnson on Dec. 10, 1969, in the Logan LDS Temple. Mrs. Johnson moved to Ogden as a child and has lived in Perry, Corinne and the Pioneer nursing home for six years. She is survived by her husband, Brigham City and her from father and Ogden. Also surviving are two Leonard brothers Hedin, Ogden, Byron J. Hedin, Lower Lake, Calif, and three sisters Mrs. Rodney (Nancy) Lund, Ogden, Mrs. Fred (Pauline) Lyncy, San Mateo, Calif.; and Mrs. Margaret Rowe, Corinne. . Her funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Corinne LDS ward chapel. Viewing will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Olsen-Fel- t funeral home 209 South First East, Brigham City and one hour prior in the Corinne Ward. Burial will be in the Brigham City Cemetery. Smith was born on Sept. 22, 1912 in Plymouth to Alvin A. and Cora Archibald Smith. He was married to Edith L. John on April 13, 1935 in Brigham City. He was a graduate of Bear River high school and had worked for the Utah Idaho-Suga- r Company at Garland. Smith moved to Ogden in 1942 and was employed at Hill Air Force Base as chief of the air terminal. He retired in 1967. He was a member of the Washington Terrace first ward. Surviving are his widow of two Washington Terrace; daughters, Mrs. Gary (Connie Ray) Moss, Ogden; Mrs. Wayne B. (Glory Jean) Vandenakker, two Washington Terrace; grandchildren; two brothers, five sisters, Devar Smith, Mrs. Howard (Evadine) Sorensen, Mrs. Virgil (Faye) Thomasen, Mrs. Ted (Delores) Tafoya, all Willard; Delbert Smith, Layton; Mrs. Ernest (Lulla) Nish, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Nick of (Lillian) Chine, Ann, Ohio. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel, Ogden. Burial was in the Plymouth cemetery. Everyone of the ladies should wear long dresses for the occasion. Special innovations will be planned for the evening. Dance time is 8:30 till 11 p.m. The blood pressure clinic was a terrific success. Some 400 attended. This is the first one, being arranged by the Bear River Health district. Every month blood pressures will be taken, free of charge, with arrangements made by Laverne Lindsay. This is service for all ages. Watch for date of next testing, Mrs. Kaiser said. Plans are being formulated for a Manti Temple and Shakesperian Festival com- bination trip to be taken soon. Dates and details will be published soon.
