Watts Roy (Helen Jane) Lemon returned home this week after an exciting trip to Anchorage, Alaska where she visited with daughter and Douglas and Mary Jane Lee and four year old grandson Craig and new baby Ronnie Wayne born Nov. 12. Other grandparents of new arrival are Mr. and Mrs. Kent Lee of Brigham City and Mr. and Mrs. Orvin Lemon this city. While in Alaska Helen Jane visited in Seward with Carl and Kay Olson who are serving there on a mission. son-in-la- w ts Thanksgiving Parker and daughter Alana were joined at the home for family Thanksgiving dinner by family members which included George and Dorothy Parker and family, Ramona and Blaine Richards and three children, Terry and Dorothy Dee Braegger, Dave and Dorothy Jean Edmunds and two children, Meri Anne Webb and two children and Verda Richards. The Willard MIA reminds us to circle our calender for Wednesday Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. for the ward family Christmas party. A good talent will be presented and some surprises will be there for everyone. Everyone in the ward is invited to bring their families for a fun time. The Willard Second ward high priests held a party in the cultural hall at the ward chapel Saturday night. They had a good attendance that enjoyed a planned pot luck buffet dinner followed by a good program. The program was presented by Gary Huckaby playing mandolin and violin, Blair Dean, playing accordian and Jay Dean on the electric guitar and his wife Lena Dean vocal soloist. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Braegger and family attended services in the Hooper ward on Sunday for the missionary farewell for their nephew Cory Andersen son of Mr. and Mrs. Hartley Andersen who has been called on a mission to the Hong Kong mission and will be stationed in Vietnamn. Scott Dean Koltz son of Ralph and Reva Koltz was blessed and named in the Willard Second ward on Sunday by his father. Todd Huckaby, ton of Gary and Karen Huckaby was confirmed in the Willard Second ward on Sunday by his grandfather Christian Grover. David Scott Jensen, son of V. R. and Donna Daley, was baptized at the Box Elder South stake center Friday night and confirmed in services held in the Willard ward on Sunday by Ronald Taylor from Brigham City. DeAnn Wells, daughter of George and Gail Wells, was baptized at the Box Elder South Stake center Friday night and confirmed on eight-year-ol- eight-year-o- eight-year-ol- d ld Sunday in the Willard ward by her uncle Gary Saxton from Ogden. Birthday Party birthday party honoring Candice Larsen, daughter of Lavell and Alice Larsen, was held at their new home Thursday Nov. 29. Following the traditional birthday cake and trimmings Vern Larsen showed pictures of his mission in South Africa. Grant, Newcomers making their home in Willard are Kent and Callie Nebeker. They have been residing in Brigham City. Joseph and Peggy Lynne Braegger Johnson from Sunset, brought their infant baby JoAnna Lynne daughter Johnson to the Willard ward, to be blessed by her grandfather James Braegger. So he joins FHA Dan Scott 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Scott of Fielding ' decided if girls could join the "Key club at Bear River High . school, why couldnt he joint the FHA? So he did! And became : :the first Future Homemaker of the month! ; He actually enjoys cooking 'making pies is His thing and .eating the pie while watching a Monday night football game is :even better! : He also takes sewing along : with the girls but admitted he had a little trouble putting a lining in a blue velvet tie-t- he darn thing kept slipping he told his mother. -- A Junior junior at BRHS Dan was chosen by FrfA officers for contributing the most to the club and gaining the most points during the month of November. Points are gained by attending meetings, being on committees and helping out in the club when needed. In February, members of the FHA who have the most points are eligible to attend the state convention in Salt Lake City. Dan is a member of the Rodeo club and enjoys riding bullshe even tackled a buffalo! He has many trophies, belt buckles and ribbons he has won. He has A I and children from Ogden. The Gay Blackers in North Ogden were hosts for a family Thanksgiving dinner. Guests included Fred and Elva Blacker and daughter Cheri from Willard, Rick and Kathy Blacker and daughter Jennifer and Marlene Petronzio and two sons from Brigham City. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Young hosted a family dinner at their home on Thanksgiving Day. Guests included Gary and Vicki Nay and three children from Orem, Larry and Kathy Young from North Ogden, Rod and Thais Young and daughter Christy from Brigham City, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Anderson from Thatcher and Mr. and Mrs. Elden Olson from Willard. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hoopes, south Willard announce the arrival of a new granddaughter Allysa Anne Bentley born Nov. 11 in the McKay hospital in Ogden. Parents are Douglas and Carol Hoopes Bentley. They also have a two year old son Adam. Carol has been staying with her parents while Douglas attended a Digital Computer He school in Massachussetts. returned shortly after birth of new daughter and the young couple have moved to Seattle, Wash, where he has been em ployed and they will be making , their home. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Watts with their daughter Adele from Salt Lake City visited in Sandy on Sunday with son and daughter-in-laRichard and Linda Watts and grandchildren and Darren Wendiann, Jonathan. They all attended services in the Sandy First ward where Jonathan Perry was blessed and named by his Deadline near for academies participated in amateur rodeos in Stone, Idaho; Plymouth and Tremonton. Carpenter Work He is adept in carpenter work and has been assisting his father in building new homes in Fielding. He has devoted many hours to cabinet making and finishing work. He has made a beautiful bow from various kinds of wood. He also made himself a nice desk. Principal Darwin Woodbury of BRHS and Preston Checketts, a counselor at the high school came and inspected Dan's work and were impressed with the type of work he is doing. Pan's secret desire is to someday become a policeman. The Halloween FHA party in Fielding was considered a success with much credit going to Dan who served as a driver, firebuilder and a spook, To sum it all n private life Dan has a very special girl friend who is active in FHA work, which could be the number one reason for Dans up--i- interest in FHA-seco- it's a nd, fun course" and third, in all probability Dan will be one of the first boys from BRHS to ever attend a State FHA convention. Open house set -- for BC man home on leave Congressman Gunn McKay said that the deadline for service academy applications is near, and encouraged any high school seniors from his district who are interested in attending any of the service academies next year to submit their applications as soon as possible. An open house is planned tonight (Thursday) starting at 7 p.m. for Richard (Gus) A. Andrews, Jr. who is home on leave from the U.S. Navy. Friends of Andrews were invited to attend the open house at 458 South Main. Andrews will return to San Diego, Calif, for duty aboard the USS Thomaston. "High school seniors need to submit their grade average and a score from any of the college testing programs to said my Washington office, Representative McKay. hope to submit my nominations by the first of the year.
