Seattle visitor spends week locally by Flo Munson Mrs. A1 (Mae) Shapiro arrived from Seattle Saturday to spend a week visiting her mother Mrs. Lovinnie Holt and other relatives in this area. Other guests at the home of Mrs. Holt Saturday were her son and daughter-in-laMr. and Mrs. Mervin Holt of Salt Lake City. Spending Tuesday visiting Mrs. Melba Hess was her son NorVell Hess of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Mildred Smith has returned home after spending several days visiting her and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Harper and family in Malta. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Mason were Mr. and Mrs. Dent Mason of Ogden. Saturday evening they enjoyed a dinner party at the Loft House in Logan. son-in-la- Family Party family party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Burton during the week. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Norman Petersen and family of Bountiful, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Crane of Herriman, Miss Norma Burton of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Burton and children Darren, Becky and Nolan of West Fielding. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gam left Wednesday for their home in Issaquah, Wash, after spending a week visiting Jacks parents Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Garn. Shawn Miller was baptized by his father, Norman Miller in the stake house in Garland Saturday. Visiting Mrs. Elma Petersen for a few days during the week were Dr. and Mrs. Claine Petersen and son Warren and daughter Anne of Laramie, Wyo; Mr. and Mrs. Brian and Stimpson daughter Stephanie of Shoshone, Idaho. They all attended a family dinner party held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Allen and family in East Garland. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Macfarlane and family A Riverside, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Newman and baby of Bothwell, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Allen and daughter Amy of Beaver Dam, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bywater and family of Fielding. Returning after an enjoyable month vacation in California are Mr. and Mrs. Ross Wood. They visited David Wood in Gardena, Mr. and Mrs. Jed Allred in Tujunga and Mrs. Adeena Bear in San Pedro. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Burton and three children have moved into their lovely new home in West Fielding. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Smith and daughters Laura and Marla and son Marian and Mrs. Randy Able visited Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Kimber in Ogden during the of week. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Moss enjoyed Sunday dinner with their son and daughter-in-laMr. and Mrs. Michael Moss and family in Malad. of son-in-la- Attend Reception Friday evening Mrs. DeVere Adams and daughter Jana Dee and son Douglas accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gordon of Smithfield attended a wedding reception in the Cornish Cultural hall in compliment to Mr. and Mrs. Jody (Ilene Gordon) Palmer. The new Mrs. Palmer is Mrs. Adams cousin. Flo Munson and Helen Mason spent Thursday in Lehi visiting Mrs. Munsons brother Orson Godfrey who is recuperating from a serious heart attack. He is at the home of his son and Mr. and Mrs. daughter-in-law Joseph Godfrey. They also visited Mrs. Munsons brother-in-laand sister Mr. and Mrs. Ed Osguthorpe in Midvale and with Mrs. Masons and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hansen and family in Brigham son-in-la- w City. Mildred Smith accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Gordon Smith and children Marian and Marla to Pocatello during the week to visit her brother Morris Jensen. Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Adams and family Sunday were Mrs. Adams parents Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gordon of Smithfield. Alene Mrs. Visiting Sutherland Friday were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wilson of Sandy and Jack Gidney and son Jack of Salt Lake City. They had been to Downey to attend funeral services for Bill Wilsons uncle, William LeRoy (Bill) Wilson, former Fielding resident who died Nov. 26. Burial took place in the Fielding cemetery. Mr. Wilson is survived by two sons and five 24 grandchildren daughters, and 27 great grandchildren. He was 80 years of age. Dinner Gnests Dinner guests of Mrs. Alene Sutherland Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sutherland and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Sutherland and family of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Glade Sutherland and family of Logan. The Primary officers and teachers and their partners held a Christmas party at the Fielding church building Saturday evening. In charge were Mrs. Karl King, Mrs. Maurice Wilcox and Mrs. Jerry Richards. Special guests were Mrs. Lee Allen, stake Primary president and her husband. Mrs. Virginia Checketts of Brigham City entertained with songs accompanying herself on the guitar. A planned potluck supper was served. Mrs. Darvel Garn and Mrs. Clive Garn spent Friday visiting Mrs. Darvel Garns parents Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Lefler in Riverdale. That evening Darvel Garn and Clive Garn joined the ladies and they attended a wedding reception held in the new White House Reception Center in Ogden in compliment to Mr. and Mrs. Steve Nicholas. Mrs. Nicholas, the former Dayna Savaro is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Savaro of Brigham City. The Future Progress Guild met at the home of Mrs. Karl King Thursday evening with Mrs. Clive Garn as Mrs. Lynn Richards was in charge of the program which was a Childrens Fashion Show presented by the Heidi House of Tremonton under the direction of Mrs. Mack Hansen. Mrs. Larry Litchford was the narrator. Both girl and boys dress outfits and play outfits were modeled to fit youngsters from two years of age to approximately 12 years. Smith said this change is now the law of the land and suppliers are obligated to give and farmers ranchers preference in supplying their needs of diesel fuel. In addition to farmers, those given preference under this revision are mass transit and those who produce the fuel itself. Clegg has received notice that this revision on distillates in the emergency fuels program is effective for 60 days. It should go a long way toward enabling many farmers who need diesel tractor fuel, to continue a variety of farming to activities important producing food for the nation. The revision notice is from the Office of Petroleum Allocation (OPA), Department of the Interior.
