Poetry society Parade of homes holds workshop will feature Thursday night holiday decor Box Elder chapter of the Utah Poetry Society met Thursday, Nov. 29, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hal F. Reeder, with President Iris W. Schow conducting the meeting. The program for the evening was provided by Evelyn L. Daines and Lillian Knudsen. They recreated the workshop session of last summers National Convention of the Poetry Society by reading five poems on the subject of insight which had been written for the workshop by poets of national importance. Following each reading, . comments, opinions, and criticisms were offered by the chapter members. These, together with the disclosure of criticisms given at the convention, provided a stimulating discussion. Evelyn L. Daines, Christmas party chairman, reported on the plans for the party. Original poems were read by Hal Reeder, Wayne Call, Arva Westley (who read her daughter Karens poem), and Iris Schow. Each poem received constructive criticism from the group. Refreshments were served by the hostess at the conclusion of the meeting. Members present were Elizabeth Lauritzen, Lilliam Knudson, Evelyn Daines, Wayne Call, Mr. and Mrs. Hal Reeder, Iris Schow and Mrs. Arva Westley was a special guest. Tickets are now on sale by members of the Civic Improvement club as they look forward to their annual Christmas Parade of Homes set for Saturday, Dec. 15, from 3 to 7 p.m. Six local homes decorated for the holidays will be included on the tours, with tickets priced at only $1 apiece which also includes refreshments served at one of the homes on the tour. Ive always been fond of cooking Jeanne said enthusiastically. "I especially like Spanish and Italian foods-- we have lots of tacos, spaghetti and pizzas. I most always cook extra dishes and have in my freezer. My daughters like to cook too. They love to bake cakes, cookies and pies.
