Thursday both couples left for Palisades where they enjoyed fishing. They returned Saturday and visited their son and daughter-in-laMr. and Mrs. DeVerl Nish in Idaho Falls before returning home. It was sponsored by the MIA. Spending Friday and Saturday in Bountiful visiting Mr. and Mrs. Don Nish and family were Mr. and Mrs. Newel Nish. Craig and Susan Udy Barnes of Brigham City announce the arrival of a baby boy born Oct. 22. They have one littler Proud daughter Mindy. grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ray Udy of Plymouth, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Barnes of Brigham City. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Gardner Udy of Plymouth, Mrs. Edith Atkinson of Samaria, Mrs. Emma Wood of Brigham City, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Hanger of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Craig Barnes and daughter Mindy and new son have been spending a few days with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ray Udy. Mrs. Edith Atkinson of Samaria was an overnight guest at the Udy home Tuesday.. Mrs. DeVere Hess and daughter Julie Ann and Teresa Hess spent Thursday in Ogden. Arriving this week to spend a few days visiting Mr. and Mrs. Newel Nish were Mrs. Nish's brother-in-laand sister Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Copen of Ely, Nev. Fielding Flashes! Club meeting, family party top local news by Flo Munson The Future Progress Guild met at the home of Mrs. Eleanor Petersen Thursday evening with Mrs. Shari Scott as A delicious hot luncheon was served. The evening was spent with members tying a pink and white (large check) quilt. At the annual Christmas party the quilt will be given in a drawing to a member of the club. After the quilt was completed the members enjoyed donuts and cider. A family party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Parley Peterson Friday evening. It was in compliment to Wesley Garn who was observing his birthday anniversary and also in compliment to Gina Lewis who was one year old. Other guests included Mr. and Mrs. Michael Baird and son Ryan of Brigham City, Mrs. Wesley Garn, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Lewis and son Scot. A delicious stroganoff dinner was enjoyed. Dinner Guests Dinner guests at the home of Bishop and Mrs. Ross Rudd and family during the week were Mr. and Mrs. Sam Daley of Logan. Arriving from Sylmar, Calif., to spend a week visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anger and other relatives in this area are Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holman. Mrs. Anger and Mrs. Holman are sisters. Mrs. Clive Garn and daughter Lisa are spending a few days visiting Mr. and Mrs. Burnell Kennington in Twin Falls and Mr. and Mrs. D. Taylor and family and other relatives in Burley. Hyrum Godfrey returned home Friday after receiving medical care at the LDS hospital in Logan. Mrs. Keith Moss, Mrs. Dan Kent accompanied by Mrs. Dennis Everton of Logan spent Thursday visiting George Parry in the Malad Hospital. They also visited Leda Ipsen in Malad and Mrs. Dale Thomas and family in Portage. Larry Hess and sons Aaron and Lance left Monday for their home in Van Nuys, Calif, after visiting Larrys mother, Mrs. Melba Hess and other relatives in this area. Wynn Hansen has returned home after receiving medical care in the University Medical center in Salt Lake City. He is reported to be getting along nicely. the weekend Spending visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Coombs were Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Coombs and family of Salt Lake City. business for the Pillsbury company. Spending the weekend at the Glen Wood home was Miss Susan Wood of Logan. Returning from an enjoyable trip to Pheonix are Mr. and Mrs. Claude Allred. They acand companied their daughter Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Holdaway of Bothwell. The Holdaway's went especially to take their grandsons Dody and Jason Anderson to their home in Pheonix after the boys had been visiting in Bothwell. Mrs. Lynn Richards accompanied her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jay Dee Harris of Tremonton to Logan Saturday to attend the dedication of the Harris Athletic center on the USU campus. This building was formerly the Sigma Kappa sorority. It was pruchased by Jay Dee and Alice Harris and donated to the USU as the son-in-la- w Athletic center. Others at- tending from the Tremonton area were Mr. and Mrs. D. W Harris, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Harris, Mr. and Mrs. James Browi) and Mr. and Mrs. Clifton G. M. Kerr. Overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Potter Monday were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Udy of Leadore, Idaho. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Herman Potter and Mrs. Helen Severson. Attending the Bull Sales in Filer, Idaho Thursday and Friday were Mr. and Mrs. Steve Potter. Overnight Guests Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Coombs and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Coombs were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. John (Sallie) Griener in Boise last week. Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gale Welling Sunday were Debbie Welling, a student at USU in Logan, Mrs. Mabel Oyler of Tremonton, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Welling and family. Odean Jensen of Sylmar, Calif., visited his mother Mrs. Helen Jensen and other relatives in this area the forepart of last week. Also visiting Mr. Jensen were her son and daughter-in-laMr. and Mrs. Jerald Jensen of Ogden. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. David Scott and family Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. David Scott Jr. of Salt Lake City. "Mr. and Mrs. Rick Kent and Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Wood enjoyed a dinner party at Sherwood Hills in Sardene Canyon Saturday evening. The occasion was Rick and Merlynns wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Wynn Zundel entertained at a dinner party at their home. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Cutler of Snowville, Miss Carla Zundel and Miss Jan Carpenter, students at BYU in Provo, Randy Zundel who is attending USU in Logan. The dinner was in compliment to Wynn Zundel who has been sustained as a member of the high council in Visiting Mrs. Millie Welling Wednesday were her and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Brown and daughter Jolene of Layton. Mrs. Glen Wood has returned after spending the past two weeks visiting her brother and iister-in-laMr. and Mrs. Bear River stake. Miss Joan Secrist of Provo spent the weekend visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Secrist. Arriving from McCall, Idaho to spend a week visiting Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Secrist and Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Estep and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Secrist and children Nathan, Jason and Aaron. The Secrist family are in the process of moving from McCall to Weiser, Idaho. Checks totaling $451 ,880 were mailed today by Utah-Idah- o Sugar company to sugar beet growers in Utah as the final payment on their 1972 crop. The final payment brought to $6,233,150 the amount paid for 1972 crop beets by U and I in Utah, which was a new record. The average payment per ton by the company was $17.5860, which also was a new record. Under terms of the participating contract between growers and the company, growers receive an initial payment for their beets shortly after delivery and then continue to receive additional payments based on net returns for the sugar from the crop, as it is sold during the year. The other factor involved in Second ward schedules fall fostivd Members of the Brigham City ward were Second LDS reminded again this week of a fall festival bazaar and scheduled Friday night at the church house. According to Jean Davis, publicity spokesman, dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The sale will start at 7 p.m. s, and items include quilts, jellies, bake goods and candies. knick-knack- Games are also planned during the evening.
