Show I 20 BOX I ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah Thursday, March 29, 1 973 At county fairgrounds Golden Spike te&stv&t- Scout-O-Ram- a ' The Golden Spike 1973 Scout-O-Ram- District will be held a 5 at the Box Elder County fairgrounds in Tremonton. May The afternoon's activities will begin with a parade at 2 p.m. Scouting skills will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds with over 47 units having booths exhibiting their achievements. Troops from all levels in scouting will be on hand to take part in the activities. A Walt Disney film in the evening will round out the days schedule. Ticket sales will begin March 31 with a short meeting at 8:30 a.m. at the Garland LDS Seminary building. Tickets will be given to representatives of each unit at that time. Boys will go selling tickets for $1 per adult. Youth under 18 are admitted door-to-do- tree. Citizens are asked to help support the scouts in this cause, with 40 percent of the ticket sales remaining in the local units to help the boys with summer camp and scouting equipment. Plans moving for Art rain visit Plans are moving forward for the visit of the Artrain to Brigham City on April with local citizens pitching in on preparations for the touring art exhibit and related local activities. The Artrain will be set up on the railroad siding south of the Big J mills along Eighth West south of Forest street, according to Community Chairman George Uibel. Other activities will take place in the Union Pacific railroad depot, the community center, along West Forest street, and at various other locations around town. City trucks and bulldozers have cleaned up the Union Pacific siding area. Some 20 24-2- boys from the local Leland Stanford DeMolay chapter assisted with the cleanup. The use of property in the area, owned by Big J mills, Farrell Jensen, and Don Powers, has been donated by the owners. Busy Schedule busy schedule of local activities are planned by activities director Margo Flint. There are always at least two adults on hand from the Box Elder Association of Retarded Children and generally several from the city youth council. The session is slated at 2 p.m., according to Harold S. Lindsay, Box Elder county extension 'V agent. All growers and insecticide dealers are invited to attend the meeting. A new insecticide was registered in 1972 for the control of alfalfa weevil larvae. This promises to be a great help in the control of this pest in the coming season, Lindsay explained. , . Alert! Cub Scouts from Troop 127 and 125 are getting ready for the parade and pinewood derby which will be some of the Cubs events during the a scheduled for May 5 at the Box Elder county fairgrounds. Scouts from the Golden Spike district will begin selling tickets to the event this Saturday. Forty percent of the ticket sales will remain in the local units until April 5, then 20 percent commission until May 5. The boys can also win prizes for themselves while earning money for their unit.
