United As most of the power that had been off for three days was turned on late Saturday afternoon, many of us returned to normal every day activities, like cooking, washing, ironing, bathing and many of the little things we take for granted. As I visited this morning I found that those who had fireplaces and or coal and wood stoves were the most comfortable. Most used camping heaters, lamps or just waited it out. One mother kept a large family busy, another said the only way they kept warm was to stay in bed. Bad Time Dairy farmers had a bad time. Some of them in south Willard had one generator going 30 hours without a stop, moving it from one place to the other until all the cows were milked. At the trailer courts where the water supply depended on electric pumps there was no water as well as no heat and lights. Many of the older residents in the community visited with friends or relatives in other communities for the four days. On Friday Mrs. Tommy Christensen and children spent the day in Bothwell with her mother Mrs. Wayne Evans. A family dinner was held at charged to cover the cost of food. So just come as you are and enjoy an hour or two of fellowship. Lenten study group in Gillespie hall each Wednesday evening from 7 - 8 : 30 p.m. led by Pastors Lawson and Mason. Pastor Holland will This is why the readers of scriptures are warned about another Gospel which is not really another gospel. I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: which is not another: but there be some that trouble you. and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be acIt is cursed. (Galatians 1:6-8- ). serious to add to or tamper in any way with the Gospel of the Grace of God. It is equally serious to believe another gospel. If he who proclaims another gospel is to be accursed: then what is to be the end of those who believe another gospel? If you will refer back to the reference in I Corinthians 15:1-- you will notice that the gospel of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ is that by which we are saved. This gospel of God's grace is not to be confused with the gospel of the Kingdom (Matthew 24:14) or the everlasting gospel (Revelation 14:6). These are closely related to each other and are to be fulfilled in the future. God gave John the vision And I saw of what would happen: another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth ... saying, fear God. and give glory to Him, For the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made heaven and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. The angel's message in one of judgment. The King is coming to judge and make war. This is exactly what has been predicted by Old Testament prophets. This King would come back and set up a kingdom which would crush all kingdoms, and that Kingdom would be everlasting. (Daniel 2:'44). Today, however, God offers the Gospel of His GRACE to all. There is no chance after death. For it is appointed unto man once to die. and after this the judgment. (Hebrews 9:27). I encourage you to trust only Jesus Christ's death on the cross as payment for your sins, and believe ,in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead as proof that He accepted that payment as complete. Human good works are not acceptable at all for your debt of sin. It is Christ whom the Father has made a propitiation for our sin. (I John 2: This is Good News! This is the True Gospel! States United prefixed Government Life Insurance On Saturday, March 31, the Holy Cross council will meet THE DIDIE The Bible has the answer to the question. What is the Gospel?" Many people proclaim a gospel which is not the Gospel, but is "another gospel" (II Corinthians 11:4). How can a person tell what the real gospel is? Is there a way to tell? The Bible declares that there is. Isaish 8: 20 states, "To the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because The there is no light in them. principle here laid down by God is that all should be according to His word already recorded. There cannot be contradicitions because God is the Author of all His revelation. Any gospel that contradicts what God has already given is not the true gospel. What then does the Bible. God's Word, declare concerning the Gospel? The Gospel is the Good News of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ preached by His disciples and recorded explicitly in I Corinthians 15:1-4- . Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I unto you. which also ye preached have received, and wherein ye stand : By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures: and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. The Gospel states that there is full and free deliverance from all sins on the basis of simple faith in Jesus Christ, the vicarious sinbearer. Ephesians 2:8 and 9 says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast." It is clear that this Gospel is to be declared, then believed and received which then produces salvation in the persons so trusting. This all comes through GRACE which indicates that it is unmerited on the part of the person so trusting and involves a gift given by God which allows absolutely no room for works on the part of man. Romans 11:6 says, "and if by grace, then it is no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work." Grace and work cannot mix, God declares. It can't be a little grace given so we can work hard for forgiveness of any sin or sins. This would be another gospel and would change the condition God gave in setting forth the and two sons Brian and Brent from Hayward, Calif., Gary and Carma Blacker and children Troy, Kimberly, Jena and Dawneen from North Ogden and Rick and Kathy Blacker from Brigham City.
