Emmerine and Golden Anderson of Bothwell spent Sunday afternoon with Ida Christensen. Mrs. Andrea Huggins and Dollie Iverson attended the North Box Elder DUP meeting held at the home of Mrs. Gwen Radar in Corinne on Tuesday. Richard Schmidt returned Saturday from a trip to Los where he was Angeles negotiating some business for his employer. Mrs. Richard Schmidt, president of the PTA reports they now have the new carpet laid in the kindergarten room at the school. The school board and the local PTA shared the cost. The public is welcome to see the carpet, but after school hours, she advises. DUP Meeting Our DUP meeting was held at the home of Mary S. Anderson. She was assisted as hostess by Myrtle Mortensen. Lula R. Clayson presented the lesson and Alva Hardy finished reading the history of "Heenan Christensen. Light refreshments in the St. Patrick theme were served to 15 members. of Misraesi Cynthia Tremonton spent the weekend visiting her grandparents the L.W. Iverson. The Pete Misraesi family came down Sunday to take Cindy home with them. Visiting with Carrie A. Christensen Sunday were LaRae Nelson of Tremonton and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Christensen of Bountiful. Floy Murry and Susan Baker and baby of Ogden were visitors at Carrie J. Christensens Friday forenoon. Recent weekend visitors at the Wilford Ackerman home were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter LeFevre of Panguitch. Grace Sandburg and son Joe of I.ogan were also visitors during the week. Mrs. Ackerman took her parents to Inkom, Idaho, to visit a daughter there. The parents later caught a plane for Seattle where they will visit a son and his family. Mrs''A'rhy A'khrrhah of Salt Lake,1 Wilfords mothbr, Spent Saturday with Wilfords family. Van Hawkes and friend of Ogden called at the Boyd Hawkes home Sunday. The Bear River cub scounts went to Brigham City to visit the court house on March 6. They held a mock court room scene and then visited the board of education offices, the driver's license division. They also climbed up the tower to the clock and to get a birds eye view of the surrounding territory. Then they visited the records vault and viewed some of the old records there. There were in the group, 18 cub scouts, two den chiefs and four den leaders. Attends Seminar Robert Wilson spent the week in Salt Lake to attend a sanitation seminar. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Christensen were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Christensen of Brigham City. Steven and Robyn Hawkes of Tremonton were guests at the Boyd Hawkes home Wednesday evening for turkey dinner. The Hawkes were celebrating being in their new home for one year. Mrs. Carter Iverson attended a bridal shower for Jeanette Udy in Brigham City last Wednesday evening. The bride to be received many lovely gifts and a delicious refreshments were served to the guests. Weekend Guests Mrs. Scott and Mr. Christensen and daughters Carla and Sandra of Salt Lake City were the weekend guests of the Boyd Hawkes. The little girls came up to go out to the Hawkes farm to see the new lambs and calves. Verl Iverson is home again after recovering from a serious bout with pneumonia. Verl and his nephew Rex had Sunday dinner with his aunt Mrs. LaVon Dallin. Mrs. Brian (Sheryl) Anderson was the guest of honor March 3 at a baby shower. Hess of Tremonton and her mother Pat Anderson were guests at a shower given for Karen Iverson in Brigham City at the home of LaNell Iverson Saturday afternoon. Bessie and Chester have been spending most of their time in Hyde Park helping their son Bob with the remodeling job he has been giving his home. The relief society officers and teachers met at the home of President Melba Checketts Thursday morning to plan the March 17 birthday party. The party takes place Saturday night at the church all the women and their husbands are urged to come and take part in the festivities at 6:30 p.m. Elmo Christensen and son Dennis made a quick trip for business reasons to the Los Angeles area leaving Friday. Larsen returned home from his mission. Wedding Reception l, Thursday night Vay and Vida Jensen and Margaret Peterson of Tremonton drove to Provo for the wedding reception of a nephew Micheal Butler. He is the son of Lt. Col. and Mrs. Heber Butler and the bride is Debra Martingale of Las Vegas. Friday the Heber Butlers and the Micheal Butlers spent the night at the Vay Jensen home. Saturday Hebers wife went to Promontory to visit her twin sister Pauline Robinette and with Mr. and Mrs. William Terry, her parents, of Brigham City. New Grandson Mr. and Mrs. Vay Jensen received news of the arrival of a grandson born to Floyd and Elaine Nicholas Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Nicholas of Harper are the other grandparents. Great grandparents are Leon Jensen of Bear River Home from an extended vacation to southern California are Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Hunsaker. The Hunsakers spent most of the bad winter weather in the sunshine state. Gone to Lima, Mont, for three days was Mrs. Audrey Gleason, she was accompanied by her Valley hospital x Gardner. He will be granted special privileges and wear a silver star designating the honor according him by the academy dean. Audrey stayed at Lima at the home of a daughter Karen Kluzner, Faye and Ralph went to their other home they have fixed up for a retreat in Montana. Fayes home is close to Karens so they were all able to do a lot of visiting back and forth in the three days they spent in Montana. Short Vacation Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Preslare spent a short vacation in northern California where it rained constantly while they were there. The boy scouts will be coming around to your doors soon. Lets go out and support our scouts. Support is also needed for our MIA basektball team. These boys really are trying, and our support and attendance at the games and maybe a few well placed cheers, would really boost the boys spirits and help their game if they know that someone else is rooting for them. These games are held at the Box Elder High school. We would like to send a hello to Leona Hunsaker. Leona has been in the hospital for several days. Decorations for the reception held in the Honeyville ward cultural hall for Mr. and Mrs. Robert John Wallace, were all made and displayed by Sandy Stoddard, owner of Sandys Putter Palace; from the lighted hurricane candles outside on the entrance to the chapel to the umbrella filled with all the lovely gifts. The guest register was filled with more than 300 names. This was a very lovely reception given in the honor of two lovely people. The birthday dinner at the Honeyville Elementary school for the month of March will be honoring Kelly Mozingo, Mike Jensen, David Wheatley, James Owen, Merilee Stone, Alan Marble, Jana Wangsgard, Sammy Altamarino, Clayt Gardner, Bradley Walker, Dale Julian Marble, Barrera, Pamela1 Nagao, Ryan Hun-- f saker, Kristine Hunsaker, Steven Aoki, Shawn Owen, Jay Yates, Sandra Iishii, Natalie Scott, and James Parkinson our fifth grade teacher. Happy Birthday to each and every one of you on your special day. Tom Purdue will be coming for our PTA meeting for the month of March. Purdues subject will be covering the drug problems of today. This meeting will be slated for March 15 and the PTA officers are anxious for everyone to attend. March 15 and 16 have been set aside, for our Parent Teacher conference. Bus students will be picked up at the school at 11:45 a.m. and taken home. There will be no conference for the kindergarten at this time. They have just greeted their ' newest member into the family. . , Their son and daughter-in-laWarren and Myrna Burbank of Ogden have just made them , grandparents for the 13th time, , when they were blessed with a ., new little bundle of a baby girl. A little over seven pounds, , this little gal and her mom are both doing fine. Congratulations on the wee one. Can you believe it, winter is i already back again, I dont remember spring ever coming, or having any summer at all for that matter. Well its white and wet, windy and wild so it has to be the middle of March. How will it go out? Im betting on a howling success. But then hes ready once again, to go to work on , Return Home Two of our special couples ; have returned home again and we are glad to have them back again. One couple is back from r an extended trip over the winter months to southern California. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Hunsaker are home from the sunshine state. Gene and Afton Preslar are back home again from a short .r. vacation trip that took them into northern Californa. We are sure -glad to have them all back home again. Monday. Karmas mother and two sisters and two brothers make for a house full, and lots of fun times visiting, The - family was here1 from Oregon.
