Show Perry Pulse BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah 5 Thursday, September 14, 1972 Ward Performs Play in Perry By Mr. Max Nelaon Tomorrow evening. Sept. 15 the Perry Second ward presents "Cheaper by the Dozen," a three act play produced by special arrangement with the Dramatic Publishing company. Curtain time will be at 7 p.m. in the Perry school house. This is a fun family comedy depicting family life in the early 1920s and is based on the true storv of Frank and Lillian Gilbreth and their children age 2 to 17. Tickets for the production can be obtained from Cindy Gibbs and can be purchased as a family or individually at the door. Tickets are $2.50 for adults, $1.50 for teenagers or $1 for children under 12 years of age or $5 per family for families outside of the Perry Second ward. Tickets for the families of the Perry second ward are $10 per family and this will be taken off their building fund assessment. If enough advanced tickets are purchased, a Saturday evening performance will be given according to director Mrs. Anne Rasmussen. Cast Members Members of the cast include members of the Perry Second ward: Mr. Galbreth will be played by Dennis Sybrowsky; Mrs. Gilbreth, Mrs. Susan Noyes; Anne, Teena Gibbs; Debbie Nelson; Ernestine, Martha, Cheryl Anderson; Frank, Mike Stack; Bill, Troy Maddox; Lillian, Barbara Lund; Fred, Mark Adams; Dan, Devin Youngberg; Jackie, Chris Rasmussen; Mrs. Fitzgerald, Kayleen Hewlett; Dr. Burton, Joe Heiner; Joe Scales, Brain Nelson; Miss Brill, Mrs. Cora Vavricka; Larry by Tom Johnston and the Rasmussen dog. The public is invited to attend one of the two night shows for this very enjoyable production. The students of the Perry elementary school are now in their third week of school and as you walk down the halls they really seem to be glad to be back to a school-da- y schedule. Joining the staff of teachers this year in Perry are Mrs. Marie Johnson who is teaching the first grade class, and Mrs. Virginia Esklesen who is teaching the sixth grade class a half a day in the mornings. They have joined the teachers; Mrs. Ilene Tucker, kindergarten; Mrs. Lucille Gibbs, second and third grade; Mrs. Lois Thorne, fourth grade, Cloene Wight, fifth grade, and Richard Dunn, half-da- y sixth grade teacher and principal. Mrs. Joycle Poulsen is the Principals aid, Mrs. Rosamond Melartin, remedial reading, and school cooks this year are Mrs. Shirley Stack, Mrs. Alta Barnard, and Mrs. Velva Greenhalgh. There are 155 students at the Perry school this year. New Arrival Delighted over the arrival of their first grandchild are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stack of Perry. The news arrived on Sept. 1 from their daughter and Gerald and Bobbie Hard-castl- e of Salt Lake. The new little miss was born in the McKay hospital in Ogden and weighed in at six pounds and two ounces. They have chosen for her the name of Gerri Lynn Hardcastle. Sharing honors of grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Burnis Hardcastle of Ogden. Shirley spent three days in Salt Lake visiting at the home of Gerald, Bobbie and Gerri last week enjoying getting acquainted with her new little granddaughter. The Perry ward MIA enjoyed a fun filled - eveninglastd Tuesday evening when' they held a skating party in Ogden for their opening social. Over 50 youth and their leaders spent the evening roller skating and then returned to the ward cultural hall for rootbeer floats. The Perry ward YMMIA and son-in-la- BEVERLY REYNOLDS Couple Circles Date For September Rites Announcement fs made by Mr. and Mrs. Leo Reynolds, 467 West 4525 South, Ogden, of the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Beverly to Darwin E. Bingham. The prospective bridegroom is the son of Earl Bingham and the late Afton M. Bingham of Honeyville. Miss Reynolds is a graduate of Weber High school and Weber State college. She is presently teaching second grade in Pleasant View. Prospective bridegroom Bingham graduated from Box Elder High school and has attended Utah State university. He served a mission in the West Central States for the LDS church. He is presently employed at Parsons in Ogden. The engaged couple has set Sept. 27 as their wedding date, with the ceremony to be performed in the Logan LDS temple. A reception will be held that evening in the Washington Terrace Second LDS ward. Pearson was master High school Class of 1932 greeted each other at their class reunion held at the Red Baron restaurant on Saturday, Sept. 2. On Aug. 20, deadline for reservations, there were only 110 on the list to attend. The night of the reunion there were 91 class members and their partners, making a total of 167 who enjoyed the people evenings festivities. Special guests for the event were the class parents, Mildred Holmgren, who had made her designation as class mother official by marrying the class dad, Noel Bennion. They traveled from Corvallis, Ore., to Committee Guests were greeted at the door by Mrs. Goldie P. Owen, who gave each a name tag for identification. After graduation, the only class reunion ever held was 20 years ago and many people attending this reunion had not seen one another in 40 years. Proceeding to the hospitality room downstairs, getting reacquainted and visiting were on the agenda from 7 p.m. until a group picture of class members was taken. All members are urged to be in attendance for this first meeting of the season. Locust Camp of the Locust Camp Daughters of Utah Pioneers will hold its first meeting on Thursday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. at the home of Thelma Romer, 428 North Sixth East. Officers encourage all members to be present for this beginning meeting. Fruitvale Camp Fruitvale Camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers will hold a meeting on Monday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. at the home of Grace Jepperson. Then Dorothy led the entire group in the school song, and Ray Anderson led them in the school yell "Yo Triumph! This program is to give learning experiences ' to the with the assistance of their parents. This program can be brought to the parents of Perry students if they can get ten couples to enroll. This will be a nine week program and these toys will be introduced to the parents and the parents taught how to use them effectively. Then they take that toy home for one week and use it for their childs development. There is a $5 fee to cover the cost of the program and anyone interested in enrolling should contact Mrs. If Bonnie Nelson at less than 10 couples enroll they will have to take their training in Brigham City. These toys are built especially to teach the child to listen, coordination, colors and numbers.
